    Default Warlock pets randomly targetting

Hi there.. I started runnin 2 wow's on my computer a few days ago after stumbling across the pvp vid with the shammies.

I am levelling 2 warlocks. They are lvl 18 now. Everything is going fairly smooth, keyclone works great etc.

I have one problem so far. I have 1 voidwalker and 1 imp out, for a tank and some extra dps. So I choose my target to kill. I hit my macro to get the other lock to target him as well. Then I hit my macro to get my pets to both attack.

    /assist Dujo
    /petattack

The pets always go attack, but if there is another enemy within range.. or sometimes even far away, one of the pets may go attack it instead. Am I doing something wrong?

pets behave like the normal attack bind, what your macro does is let the pet assist your main (which is kinda slowish by itsself) and then petattack. Even if it couldnt assist, it -will- go all out and attack a random mob in front of it (just like attack by itself would do)

had a simular problem i think its becuase of a /petattack macro

you can either put a no harm stop macro or just press Crtl 2 i think it is that tells your pets to return to you if you see them running off.

I've had the same problem. As someone else suggested, try putting the noharm check in to stop the macro if you do not have a mob targeted. Not sure if it works as I haven't played my warlock duo for a while.

    [code:1]/assist Dujo
    /stopmacro [noharm]
    /petattack
    [/code:1]

I think this has to do with the way pet targeting works. My rogue got very frustrated at hunter and warlock pets knocking us out of stealth. When the hunter or warlock lost their target the pet still retained their target.

I think they changed it at some stage but it is a very buggy area. Combine it with /assist lag and you have an imp that goes AWOL every time you hit /petattack and make new friends.

On my rogue I hated it when I rezzed in WSG GY only to have a hunter send his pet from the other side of WSG and even though I stealth the pet would continue pursuing me. If I remember correctly they put a range limit on /petattack but it was still extremely annoying. Was quite a while ago, not sure if there were updates since then.

pets still pull rogues out of stealth, if you click attack target on a rogue even if they are miles out of range, and then the rogue stealths, away goes your pets chaiseing after them, and poof out of stealth they come.

Very funny but clearly a bug cant say that its a missuse of game mechanics but priceless all the same.

now if only they could take off cloak of shadows.... now going to go away and check to see if that can be dispelled by a felhound, never tried before.

if it cant ah well it only lasts few seconds as long as your pet keeps them in combat so they dont leave combat and restealth.
