Default How to reduce CPU usage and FPS on the non main applications?

I was wondering how to reduce the CPU usage and FPS on the non-main windows, I am currently running 3 with some bad fps, and I would really like to have 5...
    My computer is
2.66Ghz dual core (may overclock if i really need to)
    4GB RAM, Vista Home Premium
8600GT, Running a 22" and a 19" on dual screen, different desktop on each.

Any info on applications or advice on computer tweak I can do to allow this, would really be appreciated.
I leave this in the hands of the experts, you guys.
    Thank you.

in theory, you can get there.

if you are using keyclone to run your apps, set the maxfpsbk to something like 8... and the maxfps to 25 or so (24 == movies, 30 == tv)

also, before you do anything, run a single wow... go to options/video/effects and reduce your video settings to low. tweak the view distance if you pvp. then exit COMPLETELY... this will force the settings to be written to disk. then start all your wows.

this should help reduce each wows computational requirements

As much as I would love to have keyclone, I don't have the means or the resources to put that much money into paypal (exchange rate probably works out to nearly 3x as much).
So are there any other options?

    /console maxfpsbk <number>

    Use this within wow.

I tried this but I am not seeing much, if any difference in performance.

You'd be really stretching it CPU-wise to run 5 on your PC. You can run 5 with 4GB of RAM, assuming you're running 64-bit Windows, and you can run 5 with an 8600GT, but you're going to be CPU-bound with a 2.66GHz dual core, even if you overclock it.

What you'll need to do is have the non-main windows running at as small of a resolution as possible. WoW will automatically adjust its resolution to match the size of the window, so you can just click and drag to resize the window. This will immediately improve your FPS, and if you're limiting background FPS with maxfpsbk to a number lower than they will actually run at, it will free up CPU and GPU time for everything else. Additionally, make sure your Multisampling setting in the WoW Video options panel, under Resolution, is set to a 1x multisampling option (e.g. 24-bit, 24-bit, 1x). Any higher and you're making your PC do a lot of extra work that's not going to help you multibox.
