Thread: Moving Regions

    Default Moving Regions

    Hi all

I am moving from the UK to Australia in the next few months and have a dilemna
What servers do Australia use? Is it the US ones or UK ones?

If its the US ones then I guess I will need to purchase new WoW's...

If I have to go and use the US servers will I be able to access them from the UK? I am thinking that I rather access them from the get-go than level up some 80's on UK servers only to find latency from Australia to UK servers in unbearable. Or will latency from UK to US be an issue?

    Thanks for the help

(P.S. UK servers, I mean Euro servers )

I see no reason why you can't play your US account from within the EU. Your ping might be bad though.

The version sold in Aus is part of the North American client. If you buy a copy(s) there you'll be accessing the US servers.

With that said, it's just the client that's different, if you take your pc/wow cd's with you there won't be any problems - ping will suck though. Players in aus get about 300-400 ping on average, to EU who knows.. above 500 no doubt though.

If it's just a few months just take your wow cds with you and bare with the ping imho!

No need to buy a local version, just run what you got already.

You can still access your Euro accounts from Australia, you may have to get used to higher latency though. Also I don't believe gamecards purchased in Australia would work with Euro accounts so you'll have to be using a CC or something similar.

From Australia you can access Oceanic servers and US servers but they are both based in the US so not much is different except the names. You can still play EU servers but it will depend on your ISP how much lag you will have.

I'm in Canada playing on Russian servers, played on European realms more that 2 years. Ping is about 300-400ms, but it's ok for casters. Just think you will have 10-12 hours difference with the community majority... this is one of the reasons why I started multiboxing.

Playing on US servers from Europe I would have about 500 ping, and about the same playing on EU servers from America.
