patch updates

every time a new patch or even the slightest most insignifigant download comes along my wow refuses to comply and download it properly. ive got one install on one hdd and one on another which i have simlinked to my ssd data file install. but every time a patch comes about i have to copy the dat file to my ssd, and completely redo the install set on my second hdd. is there an easy way of updating this mess?

After a patch round, ALWAYS solo-start 1 WoW.
Let that one do it's patching and once it's done, exit WoW and start it again 5 times (or how much clients you want).

If you do it like that, you won't run into any problems.

the whole letting it patch 5 times has never worked for me so i just patch one up completly, then browse to the folder that holds the wow.exe and do a quick sort by modified date.

Select all the files, not folders that were modified on the current date, copy them and paste them into the other account folders.

Works for me everytime. It's not the only method but it is another way to get the same result. You will of course have to update addons and whatnot.
