    My guess would be RPG with heavier Strategy elements. It is the route they've been moving since Warcraft 3. To do something not WoW it'd have to be Sci-fi space/action but to not use the Starcraft IP for that would be silly. I have no idea what they've got in store, maybe we'll catch a glipse at this year's Blizzcon.

    I thought it was World of World of Warcraft?? ;P

    I would guess it will be something that will not damage their current WoW playerbase too much.

    Something cyberpunk, gothic or sci-fi would fit that bill IMO...of course so would Hello Kitty. Of course, it could even be some type of sports MMO, that would probably make them some good coin. Who knows. I just don't think it will be another medieval-Tolkien-type fantasy MMO. Perhaps they could get away with something similar like vikings, pirates, martial arts or WWI or WWII type warfare.

    I'd also guess that patch 3.1 may have been the testing ground for some of the concepts.

    I am hoping it's Starcraft....

    That's it? I'm ordering an i7 extreme, 24gb of ram, and GT 285 x 4 so i can 30 box!!! I pwn Hello Kitty.

    Currently 6 Boxing on Firiona Vie Server on EverQuest.
    Coming soon: 12 Box Team then 18 box Team and maybe if I'm crazy enough, 24 Box.

    I'm wondering if HellGate:London is the kind of idea they're working on - after all, H:L was done by ex-Bliz guys.

    I'd LOVE a Blade Runneresque game, or something influenced by Gibson, Stephenson, and the rest, a mix of Snow Crash and Neuromancer, with heavy RPG elements, RP, and more puzzle type stuff. Throw in a good dose of Tank Girl goofiness, and it would be a blast.

    I would'nt be surprised if we don't get anything at Blizzcon - this one will be all about the next expansion, Starcraft, and Diablo III.

    D3 and WoW will be plenty to do until the next gen games comes out.

    I really want to see a game that gets rid of the holy-trinity setup. Make every class a dps type class. Then give each class the ability to keep itself alive during a fight somehow (healing, repairing, some sort of defensive shield, etc.) Make aggro more random and mob damage more aoe.

    Actually, a hybrid FPS / MMO would be awesome. Start with FPS mechanics and gameplay then start throwing in MMO aspects; grouping, quests, character development; etc. THAT would be fun to play.

    Amen to that.

    It would also be nice to see a game that wasn't entirely reliant on grouping to get anywhere. Granted, you can hit cap in WoW without ever joining a group, but most loot options involve hopping in a group for PVP, Heroics, or raids.

    Maybe its just me being weird, but to me, the allure of MMOs isn't hopping online to play with a bunch of people from around the world. The allure is to have an ever evolving game-world where everything doesn't revolve around the player.

    I imagine the next big MMO is going to be one that focuses on making the world a dynamic, interesting place to be, where people log in not to spend their weekends with 39 other people while some guy named Puff tells them what to do, but one where people log in to see if their home town is still there, where hordes of rampaging lizardmen may attack a city at a moment's notice, and where killing a dragon is a population wide event, not an hour long tank-n-spank exclusive to the top 5-10% of the server.
