To be honest, its not going to be worth your time or gold to stop at any point before 60 to gear up or get enchants. If someone runs you through SM and you get the dagger great, but staying there till you do is not worth it. First quest weapon from Outlands will beat anything you get from vanilla wow even with a +40 enchant.

I would maybe consider if there are any other toons you might want to race to 60 with before you dump the RAF. Its a limited time only thing unless you pay for it again.
