Default Level 78.5 3 zones empty DB, AN, Old Kingdom

Dragonblight got wrapped up a few days back. I got the achievement, but there were still about a dozen quests or so that I finished. The goblins in the Ice Canyon area, and the light's trust camp.

This left me with 3 quests in my journal for the Nerubian dungens. Before completeing these quest, I went back and farmed the voidwalker boss in The Nexus for Tomb of the Lore Keeper off hands for my druids. I already had 2 of them and needed a pair more. This took about 6-7 runs to get.

One time leaving The Nexus, I zoned into the cauldren in the middle of a group of horde. They attacked so I zoned back into the instance. I took about 10 seconds then zoned back out and unleashed hell. In less than 30 seconds they were all dead. Prolly around 12-15 seconds was all it took and their group was dead. They really stood no chance being in the 70-74 range and I was 78. Not that it would have mattered much if they were higher level anyway.

I took on Azjol-Nerub first. Very easy instance. Im not sure what was up with the spider boss, When he walked up, he was at like 10k health and died w/o doing a point of damage. He also did not drop any loot or xp. The last boss on the first attempt killed my group. The spikes just did me in. On the second attempt he was easy sauce, I fought him just like I did Hungerfen in the Underbog. When he was up I DPS. when he was buried, I just walked backwards and killed all the adds and didnt take a single spike.

Ahn'kahet was a bit tougher. I had 2 complete wipes on trash. Just bad pulls or got add's. The Nerubian spell caster guys had a shadow blast/bolt thing that a couple of times smacked me in the 7-9k range. The first boss I lost a druid. I almost didn't beat this guy as it took a bit and I was almost OOM when I found out you have to kill the guardians when they spawn or he is immune. Knowing what I know now, he should be trivial. Instead of spreading out my team in a formation, just keeping them all on auto follow will be fine. They were outside of consecration aura but Retribution Aura was able to kill the adds. But if they had been on my paladins ass, they would have taken little to no damage with consecration.

The second boss was easy sauce. I had read about him and his vampire kiss stun thing and his aoe lazerbeam sun thing. The AOE was pathetic. Like 300 damage a hit. The vampire life suck was easy to heal through. I have a not so new macro, but useing it in a new way on my druids. Its quite simple. Just rejuv strait from the book on a hot key and the checkmark to cast ben spells on self. So if they have a boss or mob targeted I press '8' and all 4 drids cast rejuv on themselves. Well I can also target one druid with my paladin. Then hit '1' for /assist followed by '8' and the targeted druid will get all 4 rejuves just like my paladin does. this is what I did to easy heal through this fight.

I skipped the 3rd boss as I was running out of time and went strait for the last guy that I had the quest for to kill. I read about his insanity phase stuff and my plan was on the first to use Starfall and the second to use treants. Self healing to stay alive. Both times this was very OP for the phase. The druids killed their nightmares and starfall was still going when they phased into the paladins nightmare. Same with the treants. All in all, the bosses were easier here than in Azjol-Nerub.

I do need to go back and kill that 3rd boss for the achievement. I know I can skip the first boss, maybe even the second so it shouldnt be a big deal to do. It also reads up to be an easy sauce fight.

I don't know, maybe I am in a way. More like a psudo blog really. I have one whopping video of me killing Hungerfen a while back, but I did not have updated sound drivers so it did not record any sound. I have since reinstalled windows and the like so ill throw FRAPS back on and see.

I do not have a level 80 toon yet, this is my first go at the Northrend content. While I was leveling from 60-70, I followed the exploits of those on this message board and others. I watched people race to 80 as fast as they could. Farm Heroic Badges, Naxx, etc and then several just quit and burned out. There are a lot of posts about how unfriendly MB Northrend is with all the vehicles, collection quests, quest chains. Best I can tell there are not enough MB friendly quests to get you to 80. About 77-78 is all you can get to and then grind it out or do collection quests. Some of these frustrations were fixed by the time I got to them.

Anyway, I had a lot of time to plan out how I was going to proceede through Northrend. First is that the content is finite. There are only so many zones, with so many quests, with so many instances. I chose not to run to 80 as fast as I could, but to progress through each zone. I choose to do all the collection quests and the like to experience the lore the game has to offer, and it has far exceeded my expectations. Also I want as many quests to be available to me at 80 for the gold rewards so I can get epic flyers and other gold bought goodies. Ive cleared each instance that ive been sent too, and for a couple of them, farmed bosses to gear up before moving on. Also I have done a lot of daily quests with my limited play time. About 60-90 min each morning and once or twice a week I manage to sit down and get a good 4-8 hours in. I only have about 1.2 levels left to go and ill cap at 80. I have not started Grizley Hills yet, but that is where im moving next. I hope to be 80 before the end of May. There are some real life changes to my work schedule and stuff that is happening next week so im not sure what my play schedule will be. Im sure it will be a LONG way off before I get to heroics, but a side goal is to not burn out and quit for 6-12 months waiting for the next expansion to come out, but to be able to long on and progress through content.

Something else I have also picked up are the World of Warcraft books. I read Day of the Dragon and now im reading the war of the ancients. Its been a very nice lore/backstory to whats going on in lich king. Knowing why we are teaming up with the red dragon flight to take on Malygos. Why he is doing what he is, how he went insane, and why any of the aspects would even entertain the idea of killing one of their own. Seeing Rhonin in Dalran with his wife Vereesa next to him who also is Sylvanus's sister and then Krasus with is queen in Wyrmrest temple. The cut sceene with Rhonin, Thrall, Proudmore, and the Stormwind asshat when Ulduar opened made a whole lot more sense knowing this backstory.

Well, last night I went back to the Old Kingdom to get the Achivement as I skipped a boss on the first run due to running out of time. I dont know what it was, but that first boss wipped me 4 times before killing him. The 3rd boss that I had skipped killed me once before I got her down. She got one of the sacrifices and buffed and did like a whirlwind attack and one shotted all of my druids at the same time. A couple more deaths on crappy pulls and treants gone wild I finished the final boss in one try again, but this time all 4 of my druids gear was broken.

I prolly wont have much anything of interest to post till I hit 80 or finish Grizley Hills and get ready to go to Drak'Tharon Keep.

I'm glad your enjoying yourself. I raced to get my Horde Toons to 80 and farm heroics. Most of which is completed and although I want to PVP with them now, horde in my BG are terrible at BG's and on my server are fairly bad at WG (But not always).

Anyways I got bored of heroics and Naxx and all the crap after leveling my 4 shammies a pally and a DK to 80 horde side that I decided to level my only other 60 team I got with RAF to 80 (5 shammies Alliance side). I know sounds stupid doing the same class on both side but I am kind of enjoying it doing it at my own pace. I use to play Alliance before I started boxing and changed to Horde when I boxed, but now I am going back to my old friends. I really wish I was 80 on my alliance toons as well but such is the way of things.

Its kind of nice because I have no clue on alliance quests in Northrend, although most are simliar and I know the zones already.

Im playing alliance on a pvp server as thats where I was asked to play by some friends. My old group was horde. If you look at the overall story of Warcraft. Its all about the Horde.

Yeah I would probably stick with them if my server's horde pop wasn't terrible, but I really don't want to shell out $125 either when I can just level my alliance toons instead and play with Gladitor Arena people and funny guys when we PVE together.
