Default Keyclone --- Old settings are gone when upgrading

    Rob,

Before I ask for any help. Please continue to take all of our gratitude for the development and support of such a wonderful tool. Thank you.

Now, when I upgraded and did all of the emailing and logging back in to get everything up and running...I noticed that all of my settings for auto-launch are gone. Is there a way to restore these settings or do I have to create all 5 zones and reconfigure everything?

    Thanks again.

the question has a couple of possibilities.

if you're on vista, the issue could have been permissions on the folder.

if you're previous version was old enough, maybe there was a conflict.

as for getting back any data, that would depend on the above answers.

    Indeed. I'm on Vista64.

I saved a copy of my original keyclone folder. Should I start over? and if so, what's the correct method for doing so.

I am having the exact same issue. My XP machine upgraded perfectly. the Vista64 one did not. I ran the installer as administrator, it wouldn't work regularly, but that is a vista issue.

I don't really mind setting it all up again, but I have now already set it up again (maximizer and commands specifically) and keyclone crashes, losing all the work I did. Now I just want it to work. I still have a copy of my folder untouched from before I upgraded (learned that from experience... lost my wow wtf folder once) Is there any way of recovering my original settings? My previous version was version 1.8.11.

to add to my aggrovation, now once i get it running, and attempt to edit the commands, keyclone freezes up, requiring me to kill it.... I so regret upgrading now.... everything was working fine before

when you install keyclone on vista, make sure to right-click/run-as-admin. this will insure the folder has the proper permissions (ahh.. vista). after that, you must also make sure to run-as-admin when you run keyclone. this is different from being logged in as admin. right-click/run-as-admin. you can also set the permissions on the shortcut. right-click/properties/advanced/always-run-as-admin

if you aren't sure if you sinatlled (wth is that?! installed) it originally with admin rights, delete/rename the folder and do it again.

all your settings are in keyclone.ini. once installed, and prior to running it, copy the ini file into the keyclone folder... then run keyclone (as admin). it will pull in your old settings. if not, please let me know.
