Can't Use Focus with X perls orAg unit frames

Need help trying to set focus.I cant set Focus with X perls or Ag running.Blizzard Pops up a message that says Addon must be disabled to set focus.Any way around this like an option setting?

I use xperl and this works fine. Are you trying to right click their portrait and set focus? cuz that won't work. I usually click them and then do /focus. No error messages.

I use ag and i have a macro that sets focus just fine.

I never use any /target unless I abolutely have to. So /focus CharName works. I use /focus party1 and then /focus (Main's name). That way if I am in a group with someone else (they invited me), I at least get a focusable person. 99% of the time it is my main that invited everyone (party1 is the leader). Then hopefully my main is playing so it sets the focus to that char. I think you have to be within targeting range or in a group to set the focus on that person. My opinion on things is I want something that works no matter what, even if I screw up, even if things aren't normal, etc. and I don't want to have to think about it. /click'ing the focus macro off my accept stuff macro means I don't have to think/click/do anything, I just push the key/button and I get a focus. I guess I say that since I have probably have only right clicked on portrait to set a focus about 3 times since playing WoW.

Thxs for everyone time and help.Jubber you were right i was trying to click on the portrait frame to set the focus there and failed.I got it to work using macro and /commands.Been Boxing for over a year now and never used focus before and until i got Hex with shammies and was tring to do some CC on the fly on one of the slave by clicking on portrait to use Hex on focus and not lose tank target of the mob. Again thxs.
