Default First and second heroics cleared :O

OK, it's taken me a long long time to get to this point, mostly because I've been pretty casual about my multiboxing and also because I was pretty stubborn.

Over the past few weeks I'd log in, clear the first 3 bosses in Gundrak (still can't kill the elemental boss in there) and the first boss in Drak'tharon (can't kill the second boss in there) and call it a night. So occasionally I'd get 4 heroic emblems. I saved these all up and have been able to buy 2 things for each of my guys with them. Needless to say, I was pretty frustrated I couldn't get Gundrak down even though it's considered the entry level heroic.

Well, I decided to give culling of stratholme a try and after a few wipes I was able to clear it! Figuring I'd push my luck, I went into halls of lightning and cleared to the last boss! I couldn't down the boss but I was happy I'd even gotten to him. I went in the following night and cleared both of these instances with no problems.

This is probably pretty small potatoes to most of you, but it's a huge relief to *finally* be able to do some content all the way through on my own.

If you're doing HoL and CoS, you defintiely should be able to clear Gun'Drak soon. Keep at it and check out the heroic videos if you haven't already, the Collosus fight with the elemental is probably the hardest but once you get it down you'll wonder why it was even hard in the first place. Hachoos video on spreading out in a circle and tanking him in the middle works wonders.

Yeah Hachoos videos are really a big help I would suggest watching them and taking note on how he sets up.

I don't think Hachoo's vids will help with his setup (no nature resist tots). Personally, I would just stack your toons and strafe when the big guy spews the purple goo. But good job on HoL, I can't get Ionar down yet (granted, I've only tried twice).

Yeah, I've tried this strat a ton, I just can't get him down. Every time by the last change my team is almost completely dead. I've downed him I think 3 times when I had my whole team specced affliction. Each time I accomplished it I'd have several casualties. Ever since I respecced my guys away from affliction I haven't been able to do it.

The purple goo isn't the only thing to watch out for on the boss. He also randomly charges at someone causing a wave of damage (hurts anyone in the path). I still recommend spreading out even without the totem. Just have the priest spamming Prayer of Healing and hope they can outpace the goo damage; shouldn't be very hard, but a mana drain. The tank mostly only needs big direct heals on the golem phases (he hits really hard, but only the tank).

Congrats on the first two heroics down, though. Farm for emblems and any gear upgrades to make future attempts on Gundrak and Drak'Tharon even easier.

Tip: You can skip the second and third bosses in Drak'Tharon if you wanted to. The last boss is pretty much a joke, when he transforms you just hit 2 on the tank right away to taunt, then have all toons hit 4 every time the life leech ability is available. Regular tank-n-spank while he's in his undead form (and hits pretty weakly), occasional weak AoE shadow bolt volley to the group which a single group heal will fix. Occasional nature damage DoT on a random target that you need to watch for and throw a heal or two at.

Draktharon is actually pretty easy aside form the second boss. I'd suggest skipping him and concentrating on getting King Dred, unless you're looking to get the heroic achievement. The last boss, Prophet of Tharon'ja is easymode. In that fight, it is still helpful to watch Hachoo's vid because what he does should work as well for anyone even with a different group composition. It is way easy Frozen Orb and epic drop farming.

Novos is a PITA with all the AE stuff. I cannot get it done without frost resist and grounding totems.

You sound like me!! Eventually you will be able to clear those two bosses. They are definitely the harder ones to get the hang of. It's still never 100% for me on those two. For Novos, I pretty much spam heal Holy Nova etc. For Colossus, you have to get the hang of getting aggro back between the phases...without the nature resist totem though, it would be much harder for me.

The videos are still good for position etc.. regardless of class makeup.

Can you actually skip Novos? I just assumed you couldn't, but never tried.

Yup. Just hug the left wall when you enter his chamber and go around him that way. You shoudn't pull agg from him, even on heroic. King Dred is in a raptor pen, so you don't have to fight him either unless you go inside or pull him out. I used to skip Novos for the longest time, until I actually spent the time to work out my strategy. Now he's not too much trouble for me (gear upgrades help alot too).
