Default 5 Hunters - my experiences

I just started 5 hunters, got them opp to lvl 11 got my self 5 thrash coyote pet's.
at lvl 10, a lvl 18 elemental mob attacked me from behind when i was rolling a sig.
he was dead a few short sec after. 8 lvls higher and still he got ripped into peices.

Thougth i check out the group ability of the hunters so i attacked a group on 6 mobs or that where lvl 16/17,
    not even a pet died.

Think i will get 5 boar pets and do some fast questing and pay van cleef in deadmines a visit at lvl 16 just
to see how far i can get there.

i do know one ting, i will level them opp to 29 at the very least, want 5 x bellygrub as pet and have some minor fun in some bg at that level hehe

I used to do similar things with my rogue twink back in the day I ended up going past lvl 19 just because it was so fun to solo deadmines and WC

i'm rolling 3 BMs and a Holy Priest right now to even out with my lvl 73 BM Hunter i've already had. if you're gonna PvE alot, grab some bears. they have Swipe which can hit everything in front of them and at 38 they can learn ThunderStomp which hits everything around them. 40, you get Volley, which you can later use once you round up a nice mob and mow down alot of things. at 20, keep Aspect of the Viper up when in combat, you may suffer damage loss, but you'll have no downtime between battles cause of the constant mana regen off your ranged hits. just make sure you get atleast one hit on the enemy before your pets take them down. 5x MultiShots work alot to tag a mob. that and Serpent Stings. I'm gonna use my Hunter party strictly for PvP once i cap them out to 80. I might run some Heroic 25s once i get there, but right now I'm just workin on them. As far as glyphs go, grab the Glyph of Mend Pet. You'll use that all the time and you get 20 happiness on your pet per tick or every other tick. Better than rackin up a large grocery tab. Bears will eat just about anything too, they're not picky. Look up Brummly on Earthen Ring Alliance in the Armory if you wanna see my spec.

I got levelled 5 BM hunters to 60 under RAF. I had a blast.

Then I swapped one of them for a (pre-existing) level 60 druid, and levelled them all the way to 80. Questing was great fun, instances were challenging but very doable (didn't try an heroic yet, though), the occasional PVP was excellent.

    I'm playing with 4 gorillas.

thanks for some good advice guys.

i checked the wiki section did'nt find any suitable hunter macro's i put together one self that seems to be more and more usefull with each level

    /assist focus
    /petattack
    /cast bestial wrath
    /cast kill command
    /use 13
    /use 14
    /cast [pet] growl
    /cast nameofattack

the /cast [pet] growl looks like it is working not sure thougth

when you hit 26ish you might want to look at getting a gorilla or two as pets, as the thunderstomp aoe is awesome for holding the aggro of multiple mobs. when i levelled my 5 hunters i used 1x gorilla and 4 cats and never had any problems (even running instances at the appropriate level - vanilla content)

    Default Thunderstomp!

Don't forget, as of 3.1 bears can now learn Thunderstomp through their talent tree.

    Swipe + Thunderstomp = excellence!
    RaF is done.
Currently soloing a Draenei Hunter through Northrend. When he's earning rest I'm running one of the sets of twins: Tauren Hunters, Draenei Mages, Night Elf Druids or Orc Shamen.

When WOTLK dropped I made a group of 4 bm gorilla hunters and a shaman (air totem worked on range attack speed!!) It was pretty cool, except the pets just got chewed up in heroics.

There is a lot of trick to the pets being kicked as well, like doing onyxia for example. You really have to have some good 'stay' locations.

It also seemed that in Nexus the pets were moving, but they would always get that freezing debuff. And passive/attack movement was very rough to get right.
