    Default Old World Raids

Has anyone tried any? I can't help but wonder if I could manage to 5 man my way through all the vanilla content I never got to see like MC, Ony, etc.

I still think it relies at least a tad on your setup but most of the time I reckon you should be able to force your way through if you're 80. Its afk/ezmode if you have 10 people so 5 should still be easy enough I reckon.

My girlfriend and I were farting around in BRD for her rep addiction, and stumbled into MC on a whim. We only had two, a 71 warrior and 74 hunter, but we died so instantly that it discouraged me to try and 5-man it. Then I saw some vids of a demo lock soloing MC bosses and figured, OK, at 80, this should be fine.

Yes definitely... I still 5 box MC every week with 1 pally 4 shamans, don't ask me why - ragnaros is still one of the coolest looking bosses IMO. I'm working on doing the same with BWL but popping the eggs and kiting the adds... requires monumental skill, the like of which I do not possess.

you can solo molten core, most of ZG, onyxia, aq20. BWL is quite a bit harder even with 5-boxing, its a lot easier when you have multiple people esp for first boss, but it is 5 mannable (i cleared the whole instance once 5 man and don't ever want to go back). AQ40 is kind of 5-boxxable, its a bit rough and you will die a lot, i don't think you will get stuck at Twin Emps though. ZA is 5 mannable easy.

Twin Emps. in AQ40 will frustrate you to no end.

Its an extremely buggy (no pun intended) encounter.

Not having really raided AQ40 before, I'd love to know whats a good strategy for beating the first boss 5 boxing. The one or two times I tried, I'd get mind controlled and it'd be all over.

Its almost identical to the last boss in Tempest Keep: Arcatraz.

I did it with 2 5boxers, and we just chain healed (mass) through it. Stunning the MC'd player helps a lot, as does Earth Elementals if the tank gets MC'd

Yea, we do MC, ZG, AQ20, ZA whenever possible. Lots of fun.

First boss of AQ40, zerf the hell out of from the start and either CC or kill whoever gets MCd, w/e choice you make, do it in 3 seconds and get on with the fight.

From my experience there are a few bosses that will be really frustrating if you're 'only' 5 boxing them:

    Bwl:
Razegore sucks as someone said because of the dragon controlling. However, I found vaelastras to be far more frustrating. Either you have to be able to do a huge load of damage to him very fast or you have to have a second tank because the first one explodes (and so do your dds so you'll want even more dmg). Chromaggus also sucks big time if you have a pally tank, and if you've got the wrong setup (only being able to dispell one debuff (curse / magic / poison / disease) ) you won't be able to beat him because you get turned into a dragon if you happen to have all debuffs at once. Having ony cloaks for the tanks also helps a lot on the dragon bosses after the suppression room and is somewhat required for nef (and it would be a 'nice to have' for non tanks too).

edit: There is also magic immune trash in bwl, so if you're farming ore you will really want someone who's able to do melee dmg or you'll pull your hair out

Aq40: Sekram is really the second worst fight in there for a multi boxer imo. If you manage to beat him 5 boxing then you should be able to clear everything else sans perhaps c'thun and twin emps. C'thun is bugged at the moment, there is a huge difference in damage from the stomach acid between casters and melee. Casters don't last long in there
Twin emps also depend on your setup a lot, you'll have a hard time with a caster only setup in there but it should be doable.

Just going from 5 to 7 or 8 will make a world of difference for all of these bosses, so if you just want to see stuff go and invite one additional tank and 2 dps and clear it easily

    Just my 2 cents
    kind regards
