Did your 5man join any Naxx and Ulduar raids?

Would you mind sharing your team composition and experience in joining a 10man or 25man raids? How complicated it is knowing most boss are not tank and spank? Ideally would you bring 5 healers, 5 DPS or mix? What classes?

I want to learn from your experience on what team is doable that can help my casual raiding guild when I hit my first lvl 80 team.

only thing i've done is bring my tank and a healer, but my healer was obviously the dedicated tank healer, it was really easy for me on some bosses where there was no movement for eith the tank or the healer, but like the dance is hard, i always have to reincarnate because my healer is a little bit behind the tank since h'es following. but other than that i've brought 5 dps into 25 man vault, that's just a dps race anyways so it wasen't a major thing, just dps the boss down...

Done all of Naxx10, Sarth + 0, Sarth + 1, VoA 10 (including new guy) with 2-4 shaman as well as taking a stab at the first few bosses in Ulduar. VoA25 / Naxx25 / OS25 are easier in my opinion, since you make up less of the raid group porportionally. I don't usually run my tank + dps though (have a few times in Naxx10 for specific fights).

Pointers (couple of these are just general raiding pointers really):
- Make sure you're as geared as you can get reasonably (don't hold off raiding because you're missing an upgrade). This seems obvious, but when I look back at the pain that was trying to run naxx10 with 4x DPS shaman that were floating at around 1600dps compared to now... night and day.
- Spend some time watching How-To videos of fights if you get stuck on something, fresh perspective can help a lot.
- Be hit-capped.
- Spend money on flasks etc, makes a big difference
- Be vocal about what you need other people to do if you need them to accommodate you for some specific reason. Example: KT fight in naxx, I make everyone spread out from the middle left, so I can take over the whole right side and keep all shaman within healing range of each otehr and within view of my main sham for easy Iceblock healing , while avodiing iceblock chains.

done all of naxx10, sarth3d 10 man (only 4 here though, cause we used 3 tanks & 3 healers), sarth3d 25 man, malygos25 (6min kill).

I'd say easiest by far is an all dps group, because theres plenty of fights where you'll need all your focus to control your movements and such, if you have to think about different jobs as different classes then as well it gets really hard. How complicated it is depends on how you have your box set up. For example, I hear a lot of people complain about heigan, while it is very rare for me to even take 1 'lave wave' on any of my toons during the fight, simply because my strafing keys are properly set, easy to access, as are the turn left and turn right keyboard binds to tweak the direction.

I haven't boxed in ulduar yet, still clearing it on my main first to get an idea of tactics etc

unless there's some specific reason why you want to multibox raiding, imo you'll enjoy it a lot more going in with just one character. Your DPS will be better, you will actually see and enjoy the fights instead of being 100% focused on staying alive/moving, and you will probably wipe a lot less as a raid. Just rotate characters each week (this is where a multicomp boxing team is VERY nice), patches are so long that by the time the next patch is out every one of your chars will be geared out the wazoo

I host my own raids with my guild.

ME: Prot Pally, Resto Shaman, 3x Elemental Shaman (yes, I'm half the raid. I main tank, main heal, and DPS as needed)

THEM: (guildies) Frost DK, Resto Druid, Destro Warlock, Ret. Paladin, Surv. Hunter

Others - At times when I have more guidies on (another 5 boxer), I drop my Shaman (1 - 4) for any combination of the following: Resto Druid (#2), Holy Priest, 3x Mages (Fire?), Prot Paladin, Blood DK.

We've got 3 wings of Naxx on farm (Military, Plauge, Spider) and OS10 (no drakes up yet). I have two other 5 boxers actively leveling up, so we'll have ~25 total soon.

As far as strats go while 'boxing?

All trash is easy.

Spider
1st - Eat the locus swarm and drop BIG heals.
2nd - Learn to strafe out of rain of fire. Offtank better be paying attention on enrages.
3rd - DPS like crazy and AoE adds down. Have a ranged member break the webs on walls.

Military
1st - learn2write creative healing macros and have another player target for you. you'll need a 2nd human to do the 2nd mind control most likely
2nd - Split raid like any other strat
3rd - I actively tank Thane and Rivendale, swapping at TWO stacks (not three!) with the OT. This fight requires three healers IMO.

Plauge
1st - lolwut? just kill the jerk
2nd - learn2dance. two people can kill this boss, it'll just take 30 minutes. My average kill time is 16 minutes.
3nd - learn2timeheals. and have a dedicate DPS group moving too and killing the spores

Construct
1st - DPS like you mean it!
2nd - (this is where I'm stuck currently, and we normally run out of raiding time by the time we get to this guy - so we don't attempt much. casual guild with real life commitments to schedule around)

OS10
Drakes - learn 2 strafe, have the DPS group take the portals, or you take the portals and have the offtank and another healer tank the drakes. both strats work
Boss - learn to dodge waves, aoe the adds down

Haven't tried Malygos yet.

To add on to Hairball's list...(I don't have much experience boxing in naxx yet, so some of this is just theory)

Spider 2nd: have the DK tank the boss and dg adds when needed. If you don't have a DK tank have a DK dps do it. If you don't have any DKs then move the boss to the adds, not the adds to the boss. The adds like to cast instead of moving.

Military 2nd: Just make sure your team is all on the same side. You can also just have everyone stay on one side, but if you're still gearing up that probably isn't a good idea.

Military 3rd: In 10 man you don't need insane DPS to burn thane without swapping.

For Grobulus, an all ranged dps box could probably do it by just moving the one that gets diseased away but if you're doing multiple things that gets a lot harder.

Gluth is pretty tank+spank, I don't see him giving anyone a major problem for boxing related reasons. A 10-boxer might have problems but as long as you aren't the kiter it's 100% tank+spank, and if you are a kiter you just have to kite while mashing your dps/tank macro.

When I was thinking of how a boxer would do thaddius I came up with an easy way to 3-box it. You need a way to move all of your characters forward, a way to move any single character forward and backward. If one gets switched just move that char, if two move everyone forward but hold backward on the unswitched, and if three just move everyone forward. You then just need to turn the people who got switched, which can either be manual by mouse or using the same methood with turn left/right instead of forward/backward. Any more than 3 and you'd have to have a move forward and turn for every individual character. How many you can bring is limited by how fast you can react to charge switches. For the jump you can do every character individually, get a levitate/slow fall, or follow someone else and broadcast your jump. You could also have two different jump buttons, one for main and one for followers.

Saph is probably easy. Tank+spank+move out of aoe, then spread, then come back together, repeat.

KT is all about watching out for void zones while staying spread out.

for 10 man thaddius as long as each of your guys can do 2500 dps you don't need to stack at all and can spread out on the entire floor, its only in 25 man thaddius where you need to kind of stack since the DPS min is around 5k (hard to reach without stacking).

I successfully ran a 10man Naxx with my team (Feral Druid+Holy Priest+Mage+2x Shaman) on Friday night. We had a wipe on Gluth when the kiter died, but every other boss was a 1-shot. Hardest by far was Grobbulus, and I lost 2 of my guys there. Sapphiron was a pain (I was MT so I had to run the tank, healer, and 3 dps behind a block while healing the whole time) and I lost 2 on him as well. I only lost 1 on KT on the last 5% to a void zone.
