How many Stockades runs will I need to make?

A real life friend wants to build a lvl29 bg mage. Last night he asked me to run him through Stockades. I thought cool let's do this.

I took my 80 DK and gathered everyone up and DnD'd em all down. His mage atm is lvl16.

He reported to me that he's only getting about 60xp per NPC per kill. Does this sound right to you all? and from your experiences how many runs do you think it will take me to get him to 25 from 16?

I'm pretty sure they nerfed doing this in a recent patch.

Honestly questing to 29 hardly takes any time at all - he may as well just quest to gain the levels, it'll probably be just as fast and won't waste your time as well.

If you have a level 80 and a level 16 in the group. You will have a really high group level average... I recomend getting 3 more low level alts to join you. Just yell in trade channel or in guild or something.... Your friends XP per kill should double if not more. (Yes i have a lot of exp. doing this :-D)

i did this with my friends druid. id run through and aggro ever mob and kite em to one spot, shockwave/thunderclap/whatever to kill. took us probably about 30 runs or so to go from 17 to around 23.

I was doing that with my pally team, using a high level to run them through instances and I found they really nerfed the rewards and I was only use a 70 warlock.
Once I found out my pallys were pretty awsome and could do most of the instances themselves and quit doing the boosting runs.

but if you must run him though instances get him to level 20 and switch to SM, the higher level instance should give better rewards.

Run SFK to 20 then SM to 29. Be a bit quicker to 29 than pounding sand in stockades.

I second the recommendation to add more lowbies - you must add lowbies lower or equal than the one you care about - the best number (from experimenting with all combination) is 3 lowbies and the 1 high level - if you have level 70 or so it probably will yield more xp too but I don't know what the difference 70->80 is.
So if your friend is l17 or so try to get 2 level 15 to join and he'll get a lot more xp; try to keep the "add's 2 levels or lower below - ideal being level 15 (min level for stocks). A level 25 and 2 level 15 will really sponge the xp for instance

ps: stocks will give more xp than sm until 25+
