This is a little trick I stumbled across earlier when working on a formation setup for my Warlocks. Found this technique for keeping your slaves in melee range (and moving) while you sit there and tank, or at least stay near the mob. What you'll need is the Jamba follow strobe feature enabled, and configured to still tick while in combat.
Here's the idea. I'll use 5 characters for my example.
ToonA - Main
ToonB - Slave 1
ToonC - Slave 2
ToonD - Slave 3
ToonE - Slave 4
You'll need to configure your strafe left and strafe right on your slaves to whatever key you prefer. I'll use X for this example.
ToonB: Strafe Left - Not set Strafe Right - X
ToonC: Strafe Left - Not set Strafe Right - X
ToonD: Strafe Left - X Strafe Right - Not Set
ToonE: Strafe Left - X Strafe Right - Not set
ToonA: Strafe Left - Not set/default Strafe Right - Not set/default
How it works.
ToonA (you) engage target, make sure that your slaves are strobing follow properly
Get as close to the mob as possible, or at least be well inside melee range
Once in melee range, hold your set key (X in my case).
Your slaves will begin to strafe, while also attempting to follow. This will cause them to strafe while constantly being spammed to try to face you. As they strafe, they will keep trying to follow and will continuously go around in a circle around you, which should will be within range of the mob. I chose two slaves going left, and two going right just to make it more hectic looking in PvP. I have not yet played around with different strobe speeds (preferrably faster ones) to make the circle smoother. If the mob tries to run, keep as close as possible and your slave should keep going around you. If they don't just start up again once the mob stops running.
This is a really basic method that I just started playing around with. I'm sure it could be improved greatly, but it get the job done.
