Hi everyone,
I am quite new to the muliboxing universe, only did some dual boxing with my mac book pro, but ran into performance issues. So I do not want to do the same mistakes I did last time, therefore I am asking you, who have much more experience in this field than me. What I want to achieve is the following:
- 5 boxing (or 4 boxing in Arena)
- only one PC
- streaming everything live via mogulus, ustream,... or using my own server.
Other things that run at the same time:
- Teamspeak / Mumble
- virus scanner
- video encoder for live stream
- OS will be Vista 64 Bit or Windows 7
Current hardware:
- Logitech G11 Keyboard
- Belkin N52te Keypad --> will be upgraded by a Logitech G13, old N52te will be sold on ebay, as I realized after that my hands are too big for the N52te
- Roccat Kone Gaming Mouse
- LG Flatron L 227 WT (1680 x 1050) --> will buy a second one or two other bigger screens
- Creative X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series
Without the streaming stuff I would have bought a AMD 940, 8GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GTX260, but now I am not sure, if this setup could handle the load, especially the processor. In the past I have made the experience that the video encoding software for the streaming is quite resource hungry. If one processor can not handle the load, I would have to buy a dual processor (Xeon 5520 or better) system. Also my Internet uplink might be a problem. Atm I only have 16MBit down- and 1MBit upstream. Streaming everything live would eat up most of my uplink bandwidth,... :-(
So what do you think? AMD 940, Intel I7 920 or a dual processor system. I could build my own or get a brand new HP Z800 workstation. Should I also get another Internet connection and do PBR (policy based routing), to split the load on the uplink?
Many thanks for your help.
