Default Cooking daily - decent money

I recently leveled up cooking and fishing (cooking 400, fishing just 200) on my 5 shamans.

The cooking daily alone is worth a bunch. You basically get about 10g and between 10-36 northern spices.

Because everyone is raiding uldar now, and it's TOUGH, they'll need good food buffs. Food sells really well on the AH, or you can just sell the spice (which is required to make the best food, and the spices you can ONLY get from the daily) You get about 3-5g per northern spice on the AH (on my server at least).

So with 5 guys, each getting an average of 15 spices per day, that's about 300g if you sell the spices and another 50g for completing the quests. So that's about 350g for one daily. It takes maybe 10-15 minutes to do.

I've been considering doing this for a while, but the idea of leveling 5x fishing kind of freaks me out. I do have high level cooking, but only on one toon. I understand fishing leveling has been accelerated - how long did it take you to get your fishing up? Did you multi-box fish? I tried this once and it was crazy ....

Cooking is really easy to level, in fact, I leveled it without having fishing. Low level fish is usually cheap on the AH now, so it costs next to nothing to level up cooking.

Fishing might take a while, just make sure you train it on all your guys and try and get your skill up to 200. Once you get to around 200 you can do the fishing dailies without too much aggravation.

Getting 1 guy from 300-450 fishing, takes about the same time as getting 5 guys to 250. So it's really not THAT hard to do.

To level fishing, I just fish on 1 or 2 characters when I'm waiting around. It's pretty easy to get to around 200, it only takes a few catches per skill point and you can fish anywhere now.

To do the fishing daily takes about 20 minutes on 5 guys. If my skill was higher, I'm sure it would probably take 1/2 as long.

I have 450 cooking and fishing on 5x guys, keep in mind most of the cooking dailys require meat to do, and unless you have lots of meat farmed up buying it isn't going to be cost effective. There is a single daily, cheese for glowergold, that requires no meats and thats the only one I do regularly on all 5 guys. I do every daily on my mage since I want to get the chef hat (100 tokens lol)

Fishing is also super easy, although I usually skip the ghost fish one since flying to sholozar is a pain.

I forgot that prices vary from server to server. For me, meat is 1g max to buy, and tons for sale. northern spices sell for 3-5g each and there are usually very few for sale - they get bought out quick.

Each daily requires 4 meats and gives you avg 15 northern spices (when you sell the cooking award). Plus they give you 10g to complete the quest.

I have a ton of raw meat in my bank so I never need to buy them, but like I said, on my server it's only 1g each meat, which is 20g total for all my guys. So it's still a ton of money doing the quests - 300g+ net for maybe 10-15 mins of work, so that's a nice 2K a week of easy money. But, if you have a slow computer, it's a pain to run around Dalaran to get the items for the quests. My computer doesn't have a problem so it's easy mode, you gather 4 carrots or mushrooms from arround the city for each guy, and they respawn reall quick so it's a breezy.

As far as fishing, do you fish on your guys all at the same time, or one at a time? I haven't messed around with this much, so I 'm not sure how to handle it.

Spices are around 50-75s on Skywall :(

Raiding guilds don't need spices at all, 1 spice = fish feast for 25 people. One person doing the daily is good for 13-15 wipes a night. The people who buy the spices are people leveling up cooking, since you need 1 spice per point from 400-450.

It's still an easy daily though, and right in Dalaran. I skip the carrots and the 10? 12? meat one, but do the rest before heading up to do Icecrown dailies.

The best food to sell for me is the hit rating food, it's usually about 3g each min (sometimes 4-5g). If you put it up an hour or two before raids it's almost always gone.

Also, the different fish required to make the fish feast go for 3g each min on my server.

I 5box fished/cooked up to 400 and got cooking up to 450 on 1. I strategically place my guys to fish the mats for the fish feast. The feasts sell for about 10g a piece on my server. I fished for 1 hour and made close to 70 feasts and they all sold very fast for almost 800g. I haven't done it again since but will when I need more gold. It's not the funnest way to make gold.

It took me about 8 hours to level my fishing and cooking together to 350. I have about a 90% success catch rate since 3.1 quickened the fishing "cast". Before 3.1 I had almost 100%, I only missed with bad luck while trying to get a drink of beer or something in. If you record your own .wav files and replace the bobber sound 5x fishing really isn't that hard.

I probably wouldn't do this unless I'm bored, or wanted to level fishing, but just an idea....

I just started 5 boxing fishing in WG. It's actually not that hard. I usually get 3-5 fish per cast. all the fish you get in WG sell for at least 1g on my server, more like 1.5g min. So that's like 5g a cast easy. I like the idea of selling all the mats for a fish feast right before raid time, like Smooth did. That's a damn good idea.

You can get around a min of 80 northern spices each cooking daily (total with 5 guys). sometimes you can get 120-150 if the daily gives you 2 cooking awards. You sell each feast for 10g - that's an easy 800g.

    Fish you need:
6 fish makes a fish feast (all caught in WG), along with 1 northern spice
    so that's 480 total fish.
If you catch 3 fish on average every 30 seconds, that' 6 a min or 80 minutes for 480. I think a full cast only takes 18 seconds, so you can do better...
So for around 1.5 hours of work, you can make about 850g. (50g from doing the daily)
On my server the spices alone sell for 4g (there are none on the AH under 5g this second), and fish used to make fish feasts are 1.5g each, which makes the fish feast sell price close to 14g or 1100 for 1.5 hours work.

So if you're leveling up fishing to 450, go to WG and fish, you could probably make 4-5K easy. just don't flood the market with fish. sell some before raid time, that's about it.

Just sold 10 mats for a fish feasts for 150g after my second tell.... Nice way to pickup some cash. I bet before raids this will be nuts.
