You should be able to find the answer to most of your questions except for PvP. I don't do any PvP'ing, so I won't be much help.
But I think it's geared more for PvE, or thats the way it seems to me at least.
We've been adding a lot of info to the new Wiki, so take a look at that too for setup and other fun things.

The game works differently than WoW, so a lot of the easy things your used too doing will be a little harder in EQ2. (see macros in wiki and mods).
The graphics are completely different than the WoW style. Better in my opinion. :thumbup:
That being said, it can be a littler more demanding on your computer than WoW in some aspects.
A dual-core laptop I had that ran 3 intances of WoW won't even run 1 instance of EQ2.
BUT that doesn't mean all dual-cores won't work. An older PC with single core ran the game ok with medium to low settings.
My new PC runs all 6 though, 1 with almost maxed settings. :thumbsup:
