Default Which Upgrade should i go for if i want to run around Dalaran

Hello, Currently its impossible for me to run in Dalaran.

    I using QuadCore 2.83
4GB Ram and graphic card 9800GT...

Is upgrading the RAM to 8GB will solve the problem? It's unbareable to log in 2 by 3 just to turn in quest at major cities...

    Can you define impossible?
I have runned through Dalaran in dualcore with 4GB of ram and Geforce 8800 and it was laggy, but still doable. (older comp)
Have you toned down graphics in slave windows? If not, that would improve your framerate.
You should also limit framerate on slaves to 15-20 or so to make it more playable.

Hopefully doing those will give you more pleasant experience in Dalaran.

If you have tried these and deside to use hardware upgrade route (I took it) then you should get more memory.
If your graphic card is only 512MB version that could keep your dalaran experience down aswell.

My mate had the same problem when he hit Dalaran (it had all been silky smooth in TBC and in LK up until Dalaran).

    He had a Q6600 (overclocked to 3.2ish) with 4GB RAM and a 512mb 9800GTS running Vista32.

I visited him last week and Dalaran was unbelievably bad, totally unplayable with 5-clients.

First thing we did was install the Win7-64 beta, which improved things a lot. The whole 4GB was available and Dalaran was almost playable but not quite.
So, he bought 8GB RAM and, in his own words...

8Gb installed and things are looking smooth. It's still not perfect though.

I ran around a very busy Dalaran with no follow drops, but my main hovering between 12-20 fps, while the rest sat solidly at 15 fps.
My memory/CPU gadget was showing RAM usage under 6Gb, but the three cores were all hitting 100% from time to time.
So it looks like I've gone from memory bound to processor bound.

The biggest difference for me was changing where and how I ran Wow. I moved Wow off of my windows drive and onto a Raid0 drive and I symlinked the Cache, Data and Interface folders to one main copy. That made a world of difference to me. 8GB of RAM will help too.

Just so you know, you need to run a 64 bit OS to use more than 3.2gb of RAM.

I took Uliena's advise and i reduce the fps to from 15-45 to 15-20 in my keyclone setting and it helps.

Now i m able to load 5 client at Dalaran and "move" (with alot lags) ofc. But still manage to reach the npc i want to go, except that i waited about 2-3 mins for him to appear. I duno is that common or not. i still lost my "follow" afew times. I using minimum setting which i found in a thread. (4get what forum)

I looked at my task manager, i only using less thann 3GB Ram... so i m not sure upgrading to 8GB will help, since its not even reach the 4GB capacity.

And Lastly, Coltimar, yup i m using XP 64 bits, thanks!

    you guys are silly.
You realize WoW isnt the only thing running on your comp right?

and you have many other procceses running?
    such as Explorer.exe?
and many other processes like even windows it self!
Thats where the rest of your ram is going!
To feed your other computers proccesses!
OTHER WISE YOUR COMPUTER WOULD EXPLODE.
so more RAM is in order.
    6-12gb is a great amount.
