Ranged Paladin?

With the change of exorcism, would a ranged paladin be viable? Better yet, what about 5 paladins, 4 specced as ranged shockadins while one as protection. I am not sure how the mana would go, but seems fairly viable and easier to manage than running them all melee (which I have a problem with when I have more than 3 mobs fighting me since I really can't see the rest of my party).

Sounds fun, I say go for it. And Melee boxing isn't all that tough. Not ideal, but possible even for heroics. The added bit of ranged should help cover one of the weak points of every melee class, chasing after stuff.

At 50 you get avengers shield also on a 30 sec cooldown, but shield and exorcisum is like 1500 plus damage over 30 seconds, with no mods, at 30 yards.

This spell is looking to be high priority when 3.1 hits... the set bonus for T8 with 2 pieces increases exorcisms damage by 10%, then you have a talent increasing its damage by a further 15%, and finally the new exorcism glyph will increase damage by 20%.

Holy shock is nice but its at 20 yards, also if you spec prot you might not get it.

I have 5 pallies at lvl 62. One spec'd prot and the others ret. All I can say is OMFG. I love this team. Exorcism rocks. Can normally one shot any non-elite mobs close to your level.

lol tell us how you really feel.

There's no real point having a pally at range. You can run them as an alt and fight rather well with melee. Don't believe everyone when they say it's hard.

Not trying to burst your bubble, but I don't see why you would want to. At best I can see it as a novelty to shoot out a few instant cast ranged spells, but if they are going to be range then they are not going to be taking damage. If your not taking damage, what is the point of plate armor. May as well pick your glass cannon of choice who is going to FAR better suited to do range damage than a paladin burning through a small set of spells with 15-30sec cooldowns.

Also every class can do the same 4 or 5 of this spell will one shot level appropriate mobs. 5x exorcism will be neat on Undead/Demon, Guaranteed 5 crits.

i love my pally team, they are all RET right now and level 52.
the main dies once in a while but I'm going wild doing every instance I can.
They are so simple to play /startattack,concecrate,judgement and once in a while hammer of justice until I got to 50, now I've added crusader strike
I'm starting to collect the quests for Blackrock depths now.

I think I'll switch the main over to protoction when I get to 60, depends on how they do.
