Default Ding 70 but need some advice.

Ok So I'm finally 70 but now I need to look seriously at my talent specs. I run a mixed team Pally, 2x Mages, Shaman and a Priest. I'm thinking Pally Protection of-cource, Mages undecided but people are suggesting Fire but i'm unsure if I can box that with my pally generating enough threat, Shaman Elemental and priest Holy.

Now because I box on chinese servers the level cap is 70 as we dont have Wotlk yet. Can someone offer a little advice of some links to level 70 specs. I've been looking on here but most builds show for level 80's so i'm not sure what to leave off, wether to split my points are just spec deep into single trees.

I also raid these 5 so i need to keep that in mine for the specs.

    Thanks in advance.

I would also be interested in seeing a good Mage spec. My mixed group has a mage, but I'm never quite sure that I'm doing what I ought to be (especially in a multiboxed environment).

I would probly run either deep frost for nice snaring/cc or deep fire, at 70 with the new talent trees i would probly just max one tree or the other

I think the easier Mage spec for multibox is arcane. Just do a macro that pops trinkets and Arcane power, then castsequence Arcane Blast x3 (or 1 or 2, if you have mana problems), Arcane Barrage. Also put on a separate button POM+Pyro and remember to press it when it's up.

This is fairly easy, but you don't get the extra spell crit. For that, a fire (Fireball if you have crappy gear, Frostfire otherwise) build can be better. Hot Streaks seems out of the league, but managing scorch, living bomb and the nuke (and maybe fire blast) shouldn't be that hard.

Well because he doesn't have the expansion no frostfire and no arcane barrage.

I'm going to have to agree with deep fire. You won't have any good aoe with your shaman and you will really lose out if you go to deep frost(blizzard won't help). Blast wave will help you and maybe go into arcane to improved arcane explosion. For me when the crap hits the fan, holy nova + blast wave or arcane explosion can do a ton of damage.

I'd say arcane for AOE capabilities. When questing, single target mobs die in 1 shot, so longer cast times are not good. When aoe'ing, consecration + AE + holy nova + fire nova totem.

Arcane barrage is talent learned skill from the 3.0 patch. So the question we need to know is what patch you run on, as we got 3.0 patch a couple months before the actual expansion I think.

Patch version would be very handy to know. Though, even then I'd be rusty on specs.

I don't mean to derail, but just wanted to add a quick comment for Basilikos. Check out my mage spec here for a decent PVE spec: Luan (Arcane). For PVP, I would definitely make some changes though. Her build also focuses a bit on survivability to reduce incoming damage, so you can sacrifice some of that (Magic Absorption) for other DPS talents.

Rotation: Arcane Blast, Arcane Blast, Arcane Blast, Arcane Barrage. (AB, AB, AB, ABarr)

When manually controlled: AB, AB, AB, Arcane Missiles if proc'd (usually the case) - otherwise ABarr. Advanced tactic: when channeling missiles, try to fire off ABarr before the 5th wave of missiles fires so that ABarr also benefits from the AB stack damage.

Mana hog, but great damage. Only time I ever had a mana issue was 10-man KT in Naxx (5 minutes of trash fighting and then a 5mil hit point boss). Overall, my mage came out 2nd in overall DPS, sandwiched between two DK DPS.

Played around with some Frost spec the other day actually. Single target mobs were pretty much non existant after the first cast. And if they some how survived Ice lance would polish off the sliver that was left. Mana usage was practically null

i also ran AOE with Arcane... was very fun but you would have to sit and drink a couple times.

Either way Mages have become one of my favored sets of alts.

Have yet to try fire... maybe later this weekend
