    Default Melee DPS Questions for 5man

    Say 1tank+1healer and 3DPS
    I just wanna know your experience with Melee DPS like rogues, warriors, ret pallys etc. Is it worth it to spend time with it or they are prone to wipes and just stick to long range DPS. How do you maintain the threat on your tank if they are also doing melee damage?

    I've yet to get my team in place - really need to work on levelling my priest, however I am tanking heroics for quite melee heavy guild teams.

    A dedicated tank, specced correctly using high threat abilities and given a lead time to build initial aggro (if need be) should be able to hold aggro from your DPS.
    Mobs that aggro dump may cause issues, but you would just need to hold off on DPS till the tank reacquires it or aggro fade on your dps and taunt with your melee.

    There is a trigger happy Ret pally who hits the mob the same time I do so pulls aggro, but I just tell him to back off and let me get a couple of swipes in first.

    General concensus is that casters are easier, requiring less movement and placement, can be placed out of the aoe damage of some bosses etc.

    I just want to prove that my team can be viable.
    Team: Feral Druid, 3 Ele Shaman, 1 Resto Shaman

    Gimp Team: 4 paladins(13) and a DK(80)
    Kierlay,kierlee,kieree,kierla and Karatesh

    I have no problem with my melee group. Guys run just fine.

    1dk tank + 3 melee dps + druid healer, works perfectly fine in 5man heroics. I have no idea how it compares to tank + 3 casters + healer though as i've never played that type of team makeup. I would assume that they will find some bosses easy which are more challenging for a full melee team and vice versa. Anything with 1 tank and a healer will be fine, but My only advice is that you go full melee + mobile healer (priest/druid), do not mix and max with say 2+ melee + people with castbars as that would just yuk to play IMO

    I am interested in the same topic.

    How do you fare with bosses that put an AoE damage debuff on you, like Ionar in HoL (just an example, there is plenty of others), that puts a spark on random party member, and it makes the nearby ones explode. With casters you just spread them, but with melee I have no idea. You just heal through the damage?

    Also.. can you name a boss that is easier with melee than with casters? Not arguing here, just that can't think of one.

    Hum, I've never attempted UP in heroic so I may be missing part of the fighitng.. but exactly what makes Svala easier with melee? Looks like it has the same difficulty with melee or ranged.. if really you want to find a difference with melee you have to move more to kill the adds, while with ranged you move once and can kill all trhee....
