Default Spec advice needed for Pally+priest+3*mage

    Greetings fellow multiboxers,

I need some advice on the spec for the team i am currently leveling.
The goal - instance grinding/questing till 80 then - heroics as a team.

    I have:
Proto pally 61 now - Waiting for the rest of the team to join him
Priest (disc spec) 36 - leveling
3*mage (Frost spec now) 36 - leveling with priest

    So the questions are:
    1) Should i have my priest to stay disc (nice buffs for stam/spirit/spd for mages and pala) or it will be better to spec him Holy? Pros? Contras?
    2) Should i spec all my mages the same spec and wich one (frost/fire/arcane)? Pros? Contras?
    3) Or it will be better to spec mages to different specs and what combunations will have the most potential.

AFAIK my setup is pretty common, so i'd love to hear from people who run such setup at 60-80 levels.

Hi - is this your first box team? My first team was the same as yours and I had the mages specced fire and the priest holy, the team did pretty well and are at 70 but I found that there was too much to think about in instances and couldn't get it together lol so I rolled 4xshaman for my pally and never looked back (copout I know:P). There are many boxers with your setup who do really well, but there's just something about 4xheal and 4xrez that's very attractive. If this IS your first team then they're only 36 so maybe at this early stage try 4xshaman as well and see how that goes.

it is not my 1st team. I have 5*shammy59 (now stabled, waiting for DK to tank with).

Now i am on RAF and before it is out i plan to level 3 teams for experiments with different tanks to see which one is better for me.
So far i think the final setups will be

    DK+4*shmmy (elemental)

    Warrior+Resto Dru+3*Boomkin

    Protadin+Priest(?)+2*mages(?)

so i am a bit lost about the mages and Priest spec...

It is not urgent, i have the whole team of te Dru to level but I always try to plan ahead

Stay Disc and Frost till 70. Then switch up your priest to holy at 70. You can do outlands pretty well as a disc priest even the dungeons. At 80 i find that my team starts to take more splash damage or AOE damage so they you will need more group heals.

Your group make-up sure gives you the strong ability to AE as part of your leveling technique. In that case, I'd spec the priest holy as that class/spec combo is the recognized best AE healing in game. Considering mages are "squishy" you won't be disappointed. Also, my holy priest seems to do just fine when single-target healing my tank as well.

I run druid / priest / 3*mage at lvl 80 all heroics completed.

I would say to always keep your priest disc. Holy's AoE power is in CoH which is nerfed until Ulduar patch. Disc is a much stronger tank healer and IMO has better mana throttling with most of their power having 4-8 sec cooldowns. I've been raiding as priest since 1.1 and at this point I won't even consider holy (except for PvP boxing).

For the mages, you will end up Arcane. Not sure when you should change over as frost is pretty dang good for leveling and low geared 80's, but Arcane is the best non raid DPS in the game (and it's near top raid DPS as well). Of course 3.1 will likely change it but I see Arcane remaining top lvl 80 DPS for 5 mans for a loooong time just due to it's play style. My 3 arcane mages average 5k DPS each on heroic bosses with 2/3 heroic epics and the rest blues. + arcane is insane for PvP boxing.

Thanks for an advice. I myself was thinking about staying disc but first-hand experience is always better.
