Thread: EOS Failure

  1. #1

    Default EOS Failure

Now, I just started doing the bgs, AV with decent success and EOS not so.

I run a 5x shammie team, they are getting decently equipped (450res - 19k hp) and I think that they are the only mbox group in the Whole BattleGroup. Now the problem is that when playing for example EOS is that every other player seems to follow me around and we just hold the tower that I attack/defend ?( . Note, I'm still learning the ropes of mboxing in pvp but been doing tons of wg since they hit 80th lvl

Afterwards they blame multiboxing for the failure, even so all the shammies throaned the top seats at the end chart. I was wondering how you guys are doing in the bgs, anything you say to the players before starting? Need tips/advice for this one..

Would like to add that the alliance usually looses EOS on my Battlegroup, atleast that was my experience when single boxing there.

I ignore them and move on to the next battle.

My group isn't as geared as yours and I am always on the tops of DPS/HK's etc in most BG's (except Strand). I pretty much ignore what is going on in every battle ground and just do my own thing.

I noticed exactly what your talking about in EoTS,WSG,AB, etc before I even started multi boxing, If there is a multi boxer in the BG every moron in the BG wants to follow the boxer around. They will constantly be up your a$$ and will not complete any objectives. Unfortunately the IQ base in wow for alot of its players especially the younger ones isn't very high. And yes they will try and blame you even though they were the dummies following you around instead of actually playing. Theres nothing you can really do, you can try and spam a macro at the beginning of the match to not follow you and actually play, but I doubt it will help

Usually in WSG i'll just defend and ask everyone politely 33 times to go offense. In EOTS I just make the Square capping all bases. I try not to stick around one to long cause thats when 5-10 other characters want to watch. Same with AB but i go straight for the opposite teams closest node.

    I usually just say:

Please cry more because I need to drink your tears with my dinner.

And usually they just shut up.

Crowd mentality is a major, major problem for multiboxers and frustrates me no end. I tend to try and hang at the back and compensate for team distribution, especially in EoS, rather than charging in at the frontlines.

It's a really fascinating dynamic... people, when in large groups, seem to suffer from a 75% IQ debuff, no matter how clever they are as a single person

    That is wisdom.

Ive run into such things occasionally but since i am not 80 with my team yet they usually disturb me during questing instances or if i am really unlucky an alliance 80 will take an interest and see how long he can corpse camp all 3 of my guys before i bubble hearth (x3) away.

Another thing that bothers me is the common mentality that multiboxers suck? Lol. I heal and dps instances and i put out more then most around my lvl. In pvp its a bit different mostly because i panic easily and my hand shakes so i end up hitting the wrong key binds. I havent had many people attack me for being bad mostly (imo) because all the incompetents that think multi boxers are crap autoatically think that every boxer is shamans. So when they see a couple of paladins roll by they will do a double take but wont say anything.

I have had people follow me through questing. Some even (to this day) ask me for help on different quests and instances, which i politely oblige. One followed me around pulling random masses of mobs into me as i AoEd through my own mass. (just to piss him off i watched him do it again, i bubbled and watched him die since he had used a spell to aggro several of them to were i was AoEing)

Im sure with all boxers the opposite faction (especially higher lvls) take a keen interest in us. Me being horde on a rppvp realm i get ganked ALOT. Many alliance will take so much interest that they will call in several of their mates to help camp my 3 pallies. (my best camping breaker move is to rez in a triangle with all my guys facing outward mount up and just push the keybind for all characters to run forward. Only one poor guy gets killed and the other 2 escape) Equal lvl opposing players will stay as far away from me if it is just one of them.

The best thing I've learned to do is:

Always keep quiet until one of the following conditions are met...
    1) If you're winning, talk. Call out incs, give strategies. The team loves you. You'll get flooded with private messages asking how you're doing what you're doing and what program(s) you use, etc.
    2) If you're losing, keep quiet. The team may talk about "the multiboxer" but they never talk directly at/to you. Less frustration on your part. Lose your game and re-queue.
    3) If your team is losing but they see you taking out groups of 5+ of the opposite faction like it's going out of style, the team will know you're not the failure and they'll complain amongst each other.

If you fuel the flame and feed the trolls, you'll just get into an Internet fistfight and no one wins.

A lot of the flaming is done before the battle starts and people inspect your gear.
--> If you're still gearing up, you'll get some "LOLs" or "oh great, a multiboxer... this is fail".
--> If you're well-geared from the get-go, people either don't say a word or they say "AWESOME WE GOTZ A MULTIBOXER! WIN!"

I had to deal with this as well as a fresh 80 Shaman Boxer.
[AV has to be the best place for me on any of my teams, but since its empty I do EoTS also].

I found that most players do round after round of BG matches and get into a routine.
When a Multiboxer comes into the match they just can't adapt fast enough or at all,to the shifting team dynamic.

So there are 2 methods I use,one is the same as Oatboat posted Capping the Towers fast in a square route or holding back and switch capping 2 towers facing each other and guarding the flag runner.
Anything else seems to complicated,in fact i'm positive many players don't even toggle their maps.
[Any yes once the opposing players realise you are MB they will hunt you down and farm you].

Hopefully AV comes back to life soon and I dont have to do EoTS AB WG or Spam of the Ancients again.
Hope this adds to the pot and helps.

This is make or break for me... if AV isn't back after the patch I think I'm done.
