New Setup

See Post below on specs, What i need now is a power supply, but I'm unsure of the amps needed on the 12v lines something in the 800W+ range


I've read about 50ish or so posts over the last few weeks on setting up 1 machine for 5boxing, but they didn't seem to bring me to any useful conclusions about new hardware setups. I choosing one machine or multiple as I have needs for the power other then wow. I've got at most 2,000 to spend on this setup. I am looking on setting a i7 system, does anyone have that processor if so what do you recommended going with. I'll be needing to set up with 1gb or more of video for work, I've got some specs worked out but if you guys have any recommendations that would be great.

I have a i7 920 with 12 gigs of memory. I can run 5 instances in Dalaran with no problem. I just replaced my q6600 quad core /8 gigs ram which could NOT even come close to running 5 instances in Dalaran (100% cpu load). Only difference in the systems is the i7 920 w new MB vs q6600 and 12 gigs vs 8 gigs. The upgrade was about $600. $220 for i7 920, $180 for 12 gigs memory, $220 for MB.

Im running basicly the same setup as Kicksome. and its working wonders for me.
You could check out my thread in hardware forums, where i listed the components i used. Note that i changed some componenets from the first list, but its listed later in the same thread.

hi there, i can help you setup something hardware wise, but with that 2k does that need to include monitor(s)? keyboard/mouse? speakers? OS?

I've put together a build that starts me in the right direction I have all parts except a power supply, if anyone has any suggestion that would be great.
not all parts listed hear are needed for wow, but I need them or something similar for work. I am fair compent in building computers, but I haven't built a computer with a dual core or better so If I've for gotten something please let me know, this right here runs at about $1,500. Brassmunky yes the $2,000 includes OS and monitors.

I might bump the Video card some not only for WoW but to get a DX10 unit. Either a G260 or a 4850 is a good mid range solution. Other than that, color mr jealous ^^

Other than that, color mr jealous ^^[/quote] I found a [url='http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102809&Tpk=4850']4850[/url] it adds a bit to my price another 100 bucks but still under budget, I found the g260's but New Egg doesn't have any 1Gb or more which I need, Non sli for now as neither wow or my apps are configured for it.
