Hey, I lived some time in Asia and am married to an australian chinese angel.

I spent 3 years in Seoul. I didnt like it. I won't speak about it as maybe we have korean friends in this communauty who would see me as being rude. And after all, there are differences between the culture, the people and the business "establishment". Let's say the culture, poetry, art and history of this country are very much interesting. Also, it's a country which suffered a lot, many invasions, dictatorships, completely destroyed 50 years ago, all that is not without consequences on the minds. All of us in Europe or America are happy birds living in paradise.

I've been to Seoul but only stayed a few days at a time. I lived further south for a while.

I really enjoyed Korea. Of course I enjoy everywhere I get to go. Some places I like better then others but there is something special about all of them.

My first memory of Seoul was the first morning I got (got in late at night) up and went down to the street and there were guys on scooters piled high will all kinds of stuff. Guys with like 6 TVs guys with racks of dried fish, boxes of who knows what, a pile of car tires. It was amazing to me and a very cool lasting impression.

Enjoy your time there, have some Soju for me.
