Default Dual Boxing, is it worth it?

Hello, I am new to dual-boxing I have everything setup (If I wish to do it) but anyways. I was wondering if it was worth it just to do it with 2 chars. Because if it isn't then I wont waste my time and money. Right now I dont have the money to go more then 2 accounts but maybe in the future I will be going 4 or 5 but right now I can only afford 2.

Anyways my question is "Is it worth it to dual box?"

If anyone doesn't know what i mean. then hopefully this will clear it up.
Okay so Is it worth the time and money for only 2 chars? Will it be fun in PVP or PVE? Or should I just wait until I can afford 4 accounts then just multibox.

    Thanks in advance

    Really, the question is:

Is it worth it to you to dual-box?

All of your questions are entirely subjective... Can it be fun in PvP - yes. Can it be fun in PvE - yes. Can it be effective in both/either - up to your skill level to determine that.

I started off in WoW 1.0 (4 years ago now?) with two accounts, two pcs and no idea how to broadcast keystrokes - so ended up with a healer on follow and a dps as main, that lasted me well into TBC when I tacked on another three accounts.

This is a personal choice so it comes down to you as to what you want out of boxing. Also realise it is better to get your feet wet with 2 then to get in on all 5 and find out you dont like it.

Edit: lol beat me to it

I started off with 1 character when WOW first came out, but quickly added another account to run behind me. It was so nice having a priest that could heal me so I could almost have non-stop leveling. Back then there were a lot more elite quests as well though. Like Dorffo said though, is it worth it you?

hmm. I guess I would need to try 2 before I to see if I enjoy it.....

Use a 10 day trial account to see if you like 2-boxing before you buy an account.

I dual-boxed in BC for a while before moving on to 3-boxing, then 5-boxing. Depending on what you want to do, dual-boxing can be a lot of fun.

I didn't do very much with broadcasting, the only ones I used were follow and nuke. I used a feral druid and mage, and it was fun doing instances together. It was a lot easier to micro-manage as well. You're not going to be able to run instances by yourself, obviously, but it's still a lot of fun :).

Well, Im gonna try dual-boxing with my friends account because we have RaF right now so I can lvl chars up real quick and if I feel like it then Ill transfer him to my acc and I just found the adapter for my second moniter so its up and running. Gonna lvl abit tonight and see how I like it. But once I get some more money I will prob switch to 3, because 3 isnt to much money and it also seems fun.

Watch out boxing on other accounts. multi-boxers, especially ones that run same class get reported a ton. If they compare account names you could get hit with the banhammer.

That and you can't transfer characters between accounts unless the last names are the same.

I think 2 is good place to start, especially classes that work well together. The level grind, especially with 3-5 is a little bit different. Doing step #2 of a 8 step chain quest and having to collection 20 livers is okay when you only have to do it with one or two, three or more starts to get annoying.

True. But I already have a 71 shammy. So I was gonna just setup 2 more accounts then lvl 2 shammys and then at 71 lvl all them together to 80.
