I wouldn't say it is the in thing but sometimes a person needs a change of scenery, to start over perhaps. EQ2 seems logical for me (and a bit nostalgic at the same time) since much of the lore is similar to eq.
I was being a bit sarcastic, actually, which is why I included the "" emoticon.

My first brush with anything Norrath-related was Champions of Norrath on the PS2. After playing it, I wanted to try EQ1 so badly, but was never able to, so EQ2 is a bit nostalgic in my case also, particularly the EoF expansion.

LDL was the server I played on at launch, but I've recently been playing on Kithicor. However, due to my friend's erratic play-schedule (we often play very early in the morning/EST timezone), I don't see us being able to collaborate with a guild in any way, unfortunately.

I know you were being sarcastic, I wanted the other folks who cruise through here to understand the whys and wheres. 8)

I work rotating shift work so from one week to the next I have different play times. I am on days (6a-2p) right now till friday, then I get my long weekend (4 days). I then start up evening/afternoon shift (2p-10p) for 6 days, have 48 hours off then start up nights (10p-6a) for 7 days. It is all on a 28 day repeating cycle so you can see how hard it is to keep a regular raid schedule for me.

My schedule doesn't preclude joining a guild at all. I think it would be fun to see how many amenities a small boxer guild could gain without being hard core.

Well, I'll at least broach the subject with my friend and see what he thinks. If you guys actually end up forming a guild over there, I think that I could entice my friend into rerolling on Nek. It might be kind of fun since every guild I've ever been in just treated me like the black sheep of the guild due to my multi-boxing, so being with other multi-boxers would be a nice change of pace.

But, as I said, we're online at some very odd times.

I had several toons on BB server before I started dabbling around in EQ2 again. I had enough money on my old toons that It was easy to buy starting stuff like bags ect. However, i am in favor of a guild for the guild benefits EQ2 offers and to occasionally have people to chat with. SO I will roll a team there soon and look you guys up for sure 8)

I have not left WoW, I still enjoy the game and am looking forward to the patch. But EQ2 is growing on me every time I play it, and as I learn to play it again, it gets even more fun.

Heck, I don't expect to do alot of group activities guild wise. It would/could be a great place to spread info and support each other. Like I said I play at all times at some point during my 28 day work cycle so I will see everyone at some point. :P

During my last days in EQ my guild consisted of 4 people and 2 of them were 60+ yrs. It helped that we were on similar work schedules though. I would box as many as needed to fill the group up and we would do Wall of Slaughter for as long as we could take it. :P It was fun enough trying not to pull the shadowstalker by accident (loved the bard for this reason).

I need to level up my solo character a bit before I am ready to start boxing. I didn't play very much at initial launch and it took me forever to get L10 then. I did L10 in a few hours on the Necro so getting familiar shouldn't take too long.

How does the in game chat sound? Is it as bad as Wow voice chat? I know someone else said they had a vent on Nektulos so I guess It may not be so good.

I have been tempted to try EQ2 again for a while, but have held back. Still 10 boxing EQ1 and raiding with the guild. I think if I wasn't in the guild, I'd just stop playing EQ1. Even when brand new expansions release, I still think nothing is new. All the brand new zones I haven't been to before are just more of the same to me. Been playing the game too long.

On a different note. I only have 2 L10's in EQ2 so I am not losing anything by deleting them, is there a server of choice where folks are gathering? It would makes sense to merge some boxers together for guild hall benefits, correct?
I'd be up for the guild thing...as long as everyone was cool with my constant kid-agro-AFK's.
I'm on Nektulos right now with a 27ish group.
Replying to this post also. I have a DE Necro on Nektulos now (levels just fly by) named Slowdust. I have limited play time in the late afternoon till this weekend. Friend me and shout out if you see me or put up a guild recruit message on an active team member so I can contact you.

    Thanks.

I /friend'ed ya, but didn't see you on.. I got a break and was on a little early today. I doubt I will see you during your play times though.. although I do get up very early..so maybe I could sneak on in the morning and check. What time zone are you in?

Did you want to use my guild <Disinclined to Acquiesce> ? I don't mind at all, as long as I don't have to be responsible for organizing stuff..cause I'm a slacker! :P

But I'm not that attached to it either if we decide to just create a new one?

    Sounds like my playstyle!

I believe alignment is a non-factor for guilds. Just no meet ups in Freeport for you.

I made the Necro for fun and learning. I have a group mapped out that is good aligned though.

I am central US time zone.

Edit: I am still working the auction house in WOW trying to unload more stuff. I will be on eq in a few short minutes.
