Thread: Shaman Macros

    Default Shaman Macros

    Just looking for some general advice.

    I figure I will have a button that does

    /castsequence Air, Water, Fire, Earth Totem

    I figure a button that does

    /stopcasting
    /target main
    /cast Chain Heal

    That way I will hit the main with 4 heals and then they will bounce around healing the shamans or I might even just put in something like a /click in their main nuke rotation that has them rotating Chain Heals off the main.

    What I am looking for advice on is AoE and Single target nukes. I know the macro formats and all about /click I just need to know the rotations for AoE and Single Target nuking.

    Also I did read alot of people just do /cast LB and save shocks for when they are needed. Like they have the one that stops casting on an offset like

    Shaman 1 /cs Earthshock,,,,
    Shaman 2 /cs , Earth Shock,,

    etc etc

    Do you guys just straight up use LB and save shocks for when they are needed or do you just rotate in Fire Shock as a regular nuke?

    I was also thinking of doing a rotation like this.

    Shaman 1 /cs ES, LB, LB, LB
    Shaman 2 /cs LB, ES, LB, LB
    Shaman 3 /cs LB, LB, ES, LB
    Shaman 4 /cs LB, LB, LB, ES

    That would just rotate in Earthshocks on each target about every two seconds making it almost impossible for a mob to cast. EJ is basically saying the best DPS for Shamans is CL then LBx3 then Rinse and Repeat.

    Any thoughts?

    That's a nice macro for when you know you need to stop a target from casting. Would likely work well on the mammoth boss in Gundrak (Moorabi), possibly well enough for the achievement (prevent him from changing forms during the fight).

    However, as a regular cast rotation, I think every other person here would agree that you really, REALLY want Flame Shock in the rotation coupled with Lava Burst. You are missing way too much damage by not using them. You should be able to get 2 Lava Bursts off for each application of Flame Shock.

    EDIT: Meant the mammoth boss above, I initially said rhino boss. I think most people knew what I meant, though.

    tha'ts the one i use, it heals a friendly if i have them targeted with my main, or casts LB, CL, FS, or LB on the npc, i would highly suggest getting the glyph of flame shock, that dosen't remove the fs when you cast lb, and this macro works great...

    I know castrandom has got a bad rap, but i didn't lose any dps by using it, this is for pve only though.

    Let them hate, as long as they fear.

    - On my shammies, I have the totem farm macro.
    - I have Lightning Bolt (harm) and Lesser Healing Wave (help) on a key, with slaves assisting the current party leader.
    - Ditto for Chain Lighting and Healing Wave on another.
    - Once you can Lava Burst, you'll want that on a key, mine is set for alt-click is Flame Shock and normal click is Lava Burst.
    - Manually casting gets significantly higher dps then a cast sequence.
    - I have the ability for all shammies to drop Groundings, Searing Totem, Magma Totem on a click or Healing Stream, Mana Spring or the cleansing totems (2 of each). Tremor too, but they all pulse at the same time - on the server clock now, so that is less useful.
    - Fire Elementals, Earth Elementals, Thunderstorm and Fire Nova are on cast sequences, but alt-clicked every shammy tries to drop them for burst.

    - If you decide to run with a tank and shammies, decide how many keys you'd want for individual abilities on the tank.
    - For example my Paladin wants a key for consecrate, another for seal/judgement, everything else can be on a mashed cast random macro, which goes on the same keybind as the Lightning Bolt, Chain Lighting and Lava Burst dps macro's - so whatever dps option I pick the pally is doing her castrandom.

    The way I play the DK he really only has a few buttons. Single Target, AOE, Taunt, and Death Grip the rest of the buttons are just fluff like my mount macro etc

    Yeah I just read up on the top tier spells FS + LB is some awesome sauce. So I assume I should go like FS, Lava, LB, LB, LB something of that nature.

    I can put earth shock macro in for casting boss mobs like the Rhino guy.

    I know Castsequence dips into the DPS but I am not sure if I am good enough to rotate them easier to keep them on CastSeq and just work off the DK concentrating on keeping aggro.

    Yes, I forgot to mention the Glyph of Flame Shock in my previous post, otherwise Lava Burst will consume the Flame Shock, reducing your potential DPS.

    Putting Earth Shock into your rotations (staggered across each shaman to hit at different times) isn't a bad idea. Just realize the damage isn't optimal, so you're taking a slight drop in DPS to use it all the time. Most of the time, I'm tapping away at my most damage efficient rotations, rarely having to worry about interrupts.

    Just worry about getting a "pretty good" rotation for now, and then think about how you can refine it over time. The types of things you fight will generally dictate the best rotation. I'm not sure if you're on 80 heroics yet, but I'm finding little need to stray from just pure DPS rotations, unlike 70 heroics where CC and interrupts would have been a bit more mandatory.

    EDIT: I haven't read anything that indicates what level you are, so my comments are primarily meant for 70-80ish shamans.

    I had a mixed team of 80s but had to dump one because it was my brothers account. So I figured if I was going to level up one Shammie might as well do 4 and run a DK/Shammy group. Right now I am still boosting them all they are in the 50s using RAF. As of right now they just stand in certain places in dungeons but once I hit ramparts I want to have a Totem farm running and possibly start some AOE and or Single Target love.

    Here is mine:

    1 Attack (tank only)
    2 DPS (/castrandom [target=party1-target] FS, CL, LB LvB, Healer (/shoot [target=party1-target, harm] wand)
    3 Heals and HoJ so the heals dont steal aggro from the guy I am fighting (1 shaman will heal from time to time but with the dps going they will most likely not heal. Healer will /castrandom [target=party1, help] flash heal, greater heal, renew)
    4 Totem Farm, PoH on the tank
    5 Taunt off, TS (This is so I can taunt off the target and it gets punted at the same time, works ok since they will aggro on me and then they will hit the consecrate so it should build more aggro)

    The others are used for some buffs and tanking with the Pally, your DK would be slightly different than mine.

    I find that I dont really even need to do any stop casting/cc on the mobs in dungeons I just straight dps them, and I have a habit of always and I mean always taking out the casters/range dps first since they have a range and can get to my guys easy then I take out the others.

    I find I really like the castrandom vs castsequence only castsequence is on the totem farm.
