    Default Full Mixed Group Advise?!

Started my PVE team few days ago. (took a looong time to auctionhouse ear up / train / macro my lvl 1 gear RAF 60s but finially started Ramparts last night.
Group make up is below with reasons why I chose them.
Pally - Blessing of kings with devo aura
Mage - arcane brilliance, water and Portals so nice
Warlock - So nice to have summons for repiar - Also imp stamina
Hunter - Trueshot Arua - Easy DPS - Pet
Druid - Wild Growth - Mark of the Wild - Hot's and a badass treeform

However after much research I decided to swap out the pally and started a deathknight tank last night. I would like opinions on group makeup based on the above info. I think it might be too mixed and that might effect my success. After talking with a friend of mine at work he said at least all gear will be easily given out only having to roll on cloth. Meanwhile I am going to lvl the DK outa starting zone and try em out. Any advise would be great even if it is " get to 80 and then swap out for 4 shamans".

    Thankyou in advance

Have a good go with the mixed group.

A lot of advise will be around going for a 4 shammy 1 pally team, because so many have that grouping, and know it's successful.
If you look further there are others with mixed groups having success (And I hope to be one of them).

It might be trickier to setup but I think with enough work on macros it can be done.

    Zal,
What o you think about me dropping the hunter for the boomkin, moving the paladin to healer slot and bringing in dk as tank. How productive would a pally be as healer?

He can spamheal you to death but he'll struggle with a lot of AE damage I guess.

You can switch the hunter for an ele sham. Or switch the druid to boomkin and use a resto sham.

Shaman would bring mana/hp totem, bloodlust, ankh, elementals. The hunter's trueshot aura only really helps the tank.

Synergy of 3 casting DPS is nice. You can see my trio in my sig.

That said, as its been stated, the road is tougher. I wanted the diversity so I'd have options when playing "with" people. Everything's "doable" just tougher to fully utilize a mixed team's capabilities versus a 2 class setup (tank + shaman).

With my pally I have Beacon of Light in my macro and Sacred Shield to help control situations like this. There is also the glyph of Holy Light that provides a group heal (although small). I like my pally as a spam healer but I have found it harder to make her efficient. My druid, on the other hand, I've sometimes thought must have a hung up macro because her mana bar doesn't go down lol.

Aside from this, I will second the suggestion that 3 casters for dps works really well. I've found my warlock a bit more difficult to balance (just haven't taken the time to get the rotation right and the felguard seems to have a mind of it's own) but mage, shaman, and boomkin are easy casters to work with. In my experience, paladins are the least fiddly in their tank rotation and I find their taunt the easiest to work with. Macroing my death knight just hasn't been so easy. Between runes, runic power, and hit rating, it's easy to get macros hung up and it seems like my oh shit buttons are never available because I just used that rune for something else. But I admit I just haven't put a lot of effort into it because I don't usually need to tank when we raid.

Anyway, I think the only thing that really makes a mixed group harder is the time it takes to get it right. Whereas with a 4 shammy group you only need to figure out your rotation and macros and gear once, with a mixed group you need to do that for everyone. And as you can see from my comments above, I'm still slacking in that department :P But once you work our your rotations I think mixed groups work great for PVE. As you pointed out, there are a lot of great things various classes can bring to your group.
