This is a rediculous zelotry. Get IE8, patch your computer, don't be a retard and you're fine. Using anything thats old will get you infected if you're dumb. Firefox is a huge ass memory whore that is slow as balls.

Not often you see someone take that stance.

Well, he does work for Microsoft. But in defense of Microsoft, they do provide the appropriate tools to handle these situations. I'm using the Windows 7 beta right now on my other four machines and I'm going to upgrade EVERY windows box I have once Windows 7 is commercially available. And before anyone accuses me of being a Microsoft whore, I have a couple Apple machines, two Ubuntu servers, and five windows boxes (one is my primary system, and the other four run my alts). In all fairness, Microsoft isn't at fault here.

LOL Seriously. I'm sorry if my preference over firefox seems like zealotry. It seems that making such a simple change in what program you use that has SO many benefits over its competitor should be something everyone should do. I apologize if my "zealotry" offends you, isn't Suvega a Microsoft Employee? His defense also seems pretty zealot like. No worries, I'm loyal to my employer as well. But not at the expense of someone else's security. Sure, patch your computer and don't be a retard, but how about NOT using a browser that is the main target of so many exploits?

My point was, that an argument that "Oh you're just using the wrong browser you stupid idiot!" was a bit rediculous.
Every firefoxy nerd (Btw, I do use linux for a home server, and I use firefox at times as well, not that it should matter for this conversation but hey..), always spouts about how more secure firefox is then IE.

Unfortunetly it's a blatent lie. Find me any hard data from a reliable source comparing the security of a fully patched / up to date browser against the other. Even the pwn-to-own competition the first browser to get wrecked was safari. GG.

Between using vista, the default browser with automatic updates. Even with ABSOLUTELY NO ANTI VIRUS SHIT, OR ANTI-SPYWARE shit, I've remained virus free for over 2 years?

If I start using firefox is there anything special I need to setup within firefox?
Firefox with NoScript and AdBlock+ addons make the web a beautiful place to visit.

Running Vista here, using IE rarely and Firefox primarily - no anti virus, no anti spyware - 2+ years virus free.

Now i'm on Windows 7 and still no problems.

It's pretty easy, your computer starts running like shit, pop ups fly all over hell and gone, your ISP notifies you to clean up or be disconnected, etc... When my machine got hit with Blaster so many years ago I knew it within seconds.
