    Default KeyClone?

OK so i have been looking over these pages for a while now. I have come to the conclusion Keyclone is probably the best solution for multiboxing. Seams to be the most effective and easiest to run since all you have to do is basically turn it on lol. I looked at some of the free software and it doesn't really seam to be all that good mostly havig to set up scripts to run an all. I am not a very computer eliterate guy but i like gaming. I like to try playing my old games with new twists and it seam MB would be a fun new twist. I however was looking for a free program but they seam complicated and hard for someone like me to do and be successful at. I am not really trying to PVP just PvE and have some fun lvling again.
I am gonna run 2 druids for now. I have a few questions that may seam dumb but any answers would help. I havent bought Keyclone yet my question is can i use a giftcard credit card like the ones u can get from Safeway. I am not to trusting to put my number over the net to be honest and would just like conformation that this would work before i go out and buy a 20 dollar visa giftcard.
2nd question since i have not yet started keyclone i have not been able to try it out so i was wondering about the /assist stuff. I believe /assist targets your mains target so say i am running 2 druids. when i /assist target now both druids are targeting the same mob and say i press 2 which is wraith both toons will at the same time will attack the target right?
3rd and final question. When i am doing loot quests like 8 tusks or something. Should i do free for all tell my one guy gets them all and than switch over and have my main start following my alt until he/she picks up all the tusks? Or should i just skip these quests?

thank you so much in adavance for any information.

(Vyndree edit: The prefix you should be using is "Keyclone". "Multibox" is another piece of software totally unrelated to Keyclone and, unfortunately, named the same as a very common term: multiboxing. In any case, you should use the prefix "Keyclone" for all keyclone-specific software threads.)

The ones with the Visa logo, right? Yes, I'm pretty sure you can do that.

You can do it a few different ways. Here is the easisest and most straight forward. On your main, you have your spell on hot bar key 2, Wraith. On your slave, make a macro that looks like this:

    /assist Mainsname
    /cast Wraith

and put that macro on hotkey 2.

Target a mob with your main and press 2, both toons will fire at the same guy.

There are some more advanced and better ways to set up your macros, focus, assists, etc but start there and then come back and browse these forums to learn the others when you're comfortable

Right now, you have to walk up to the dead mob and manually loot on each toon. In the next patch, I believe there will be an 'interact with target' feature that you will be able to keybind.

Keyclone works great for me - I like it because it suits my personal gaming style and the tutorials are well written and easy to find. That being said I wouldn't knock the other options - in fact I often wonder what I might be missing out on. If you are using two systems to dual box, this looks like a great option, which I would try myself save for the fact that I alternate between using multiple boxes and a single box. I would venture to say that with the quality of this community you could pick any set-up and get the help you need to get it off the ground. Keyclone is a great place to start.

    1. I beleive paypal is an option and it's a very secure way of making payments online without giving up your info. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed.

    2. You have a few options, but you have the gist of it right. The most basic macro you can write is /assist leadercharactername where the last part is your lead characters name. This will aquire the target of your lead character. Alternatively you could set up all of your spells with that macro:

    /assist Hermy
    /cast Wrath

or you could set your focus to your main character and use this instead:

    /assist Focus
    /cast Wrath

*note that if you choose the ? mark icon for the macro and add #showtooltip to the top it will show the spells actual icon with range and cooldown

    #showtooltip
    /assist Focus
    /cast Wrath

The little that i know of macros is drawn directly and almost exclusively from this site, so visit that section of the forum - you will come up with all kinds of ideas. As a multi-boxer can be a big part of the fun.

    3. It's a personal choice, but I have my looting set to FFA and when I have to do a collection I loot with my second character, once he's done I loot with the main (kind of like saving the best part of the meal til the end) - otherwise I pick everything up on my main.

    4. You didn't ask, but let me suggest that you check out Jamba - an add-on for multi-boxers. It will make your life MUCH easier.

Thank you guys for your info that helps out alot.
I do have one more macro question though.
I was just wondering if this would be a good setup for healing...

say i have tons of moves now would this work as a macro
    main hits 2 = swipe
    alt hits 2 = /target = focus
    /cast regrowth

does this work?? or will i be running into issue because swipe is such a good move in that i will be healing way to often because i will be using it to often. How do you guys set up heals??

I like to keep my heals separate - mostly because I don't need much. You will be killing things before they get to you or shortly thereafter. Try starting out with a separate macro like:

    /cast [target=Hermy] Renew

It will allow the character to cast the heal without ever switching targets. I use my second row of hotkeys with the alt modifier (bartender is part of my ui), so it's just a quick alt+1 etc to heal any given target. Others here use their F keys. You can set up the buttons in various combinations as well. For example, pressing alt+1 or F1 could cause your main to nuke and second to heal the first guy, or have them heal each other or themselves - you see where I'm going. Placing the macros on various keys gives you a lot of fexibility.

One last note: I beleive you can bind the macro to a key as well but I forget how. You can check with the sharper tacks in the macro forum

    Default healing setup for me

I currently run a 5 box setup with 1 prot pally 3 ele shamans and a resto druid.

Some people use the healer as the main so they can diresct heals to the dps bot in say a mage/warlock priest setup but in my case i direct dps by controlling the pally as my main and realisticallly using the druid as a healbot for the group.

My first order of business is to unbind every key in the wow interface except movement keys and the main actionbar keys which are 1-0 ,-,=. I use ct-mod to arrange my bars on all my toons.

I use a setfocus macro with modifiers that can switch foucs to any of my toons such as: /focus [modifier:ctrl, target=healnu] [modifier:shift, target=kowhealz] You ahve to setup focus macros for all your toons so that when you want you can change focus and heal everyone that way with a dedicated healing button or you can do a combo like I do:

I use a g15 keyboard and I use the keyboard software to assign random keys on the keyboard to the g 1-18 keys I use these keys combined with macros to heal any party member using the druid by pressing a gkey in a particular row. These are all bound on my druid char. I also have my focus targeting macro setup so that if my main pally targets a person that is a player or even a member of my own party or raid that my healing spells will target what my pally is targeting and cast on them. This is nice when runnnig around with my main i can click on players and hit rejuventaion and a lifebloom and never break stride or switch chars. My shamans have a dedicated lesser heal focus on my tank which when pressed makes all three of them hit me with lesser heals at once pumping me up to almost 7k life instantly if they all crit and thats at lvl 70 in shit gear. My pally tank is 80 and all epic with almost 27k life. I never have a problem staying alive or killing things. The hardest part is coordinating your mains buttons to gain the best combos of spells to cast on mobs all at once. I try to hit mobs with a bit of everything. I press 2 and each of my shammies casts, flameshock, frostshock, and earthshock all at once on a mob or if I press alt 2 they all blast the target with flameshock. The macros setup is a chore and you will spend a fair amount of time and effort to get them all right and the bugs worked out but when you do its a great thing to pull 15-20 elite mobs pop down 12 totems cast chain lightining and lightning bolt over and over again and keep your whole group healed by pressing 6 buttons. The next thing i am working out is reaction time and actual postioning of my chars during boss fights where the encounter lays out pools of poison or other aoe effects that linger because you can have them on follow but this becomes a serious problem with classes that cant take 2k a tick for very long. I am going to try pimping my healer out with all the threat reduction enchants and abilities as I can and basically worry about my tank and healer positioning and if my dps dies so be it. If you have any macro questions or healing questions let me know.

Something that HKN can do that I am not sure Keyclone can do is pass button clicks from your main to your alts. With some simple scripting and macros, I can click heal on my main's screen and my priest obeys.

just set the hotkey for mouse-click-passing (keyclone/setup/general) and when you are ready to click, toggle it on, click, watch it click all screens, then toggle it off

Not talking about sync mouse clicks, but clicking an icon on your main's screen that send sends a key click to your alt's screen. So, if I had a dummy macro set up for healing on my main and I click it, my alt receives Alt+F4 and that means to heal my main.

    Have fun binding alt+F4.

    (yes, I've done it before)

Keyclone can't do what it sounds like you're wanting. But you CAN use hotstrings to send all your healer heal me buttons that press his heal keys. If you're a clicker (someone who doesn't keybind a lot of spells) You'll quickly find out it is MUCH easier to learn / get used to using keybinds than to run a bunch of macros / find a mouse clicking solution. How I heal is Shift + S, which isn't bound to anything on any toon except my healer, so even though everyone gets passed Shift + S, only the healer does something. And I have my keyclone hotstring set up so when my healer gets the Shift + S keys, it actually presses 9. You don't HAVE to do it this way, you can simply bind your heals to keys your other toons aren't using and press those to heal.
