2 5 boxers in 10 man Naxx 3 wings down

Just wanted to post this to give some encouragement to those who may be getting resistance to boxing Naxx.

So, I normally 4/5 box Naxx 10 with a static group, but we've taken the next two weeks off so I decided that I'd play with the other 5 boxer on my server and we'd try Naxx over the past two nights. I wasn't very hopeful. We managed to get 6/15 right before server shutdown for the patch :\ Full clear of Spider, Noth, Patchwerk, and Instructor. Maexxna was by far the hardest, esp with her stealth buff in 10 man naxx this week, but after ~30ish wipes, we finally got it down. Patchwerk took 2 tries, which shocked me to no end. Noth was 3, we danced for a bit on Heigan (smokebummys first dance lessons, which was more experience than real attempts), and Instructor was ezmode when we got a good rhythm down. Gothik would be cake too, but we got shut down in the middle of the fight. (Damn Patch!)

We both run Unholy DK/4 Shamans, and did Noth/Anubrekan/Grand Widow with 4 elemental, but opted for the 3 elemental/1 resto setup after beating both of our collective heads into walls in Maexxna's room.

I just love it when people say "That'll be impossible," and end up proving them wrong. He's the fat cows, I'm the smexy orcs.

Safety Danced Heigan - not a single shaman on follow died. Even though I had the freaking shaman train on 8.

Pre nerf, he'd be impossible. Post nerf, he's doable, but - if it was your first time in Naxx w/ another boxer who's cleared the whole thing, and he/she took you to Grobbulus before other bosses and made you try that fight - wouldn't you want to punch them in the face?

TBH - I'm more concerned with Gluth than Grobbulus. 4 Horse shouldn't be too terribad with bloodlust balls to the wall method, but Gluth - I'm not so sure. That's why I wasn't rushing to get past Grobbulus.

Well, Grobbulus is quite easy if the dps is kept up high.

Tank take the globs, all dps shammies throw in cl's, very nice dps means a short fight and injections dont come too fast.

And shamans can run away just far enough, cleanse, run back. (saves time and makes consecutive injections on the same boxer to be easily managable.)

I did grob pre-nerf without a hitch with the cleansing trick really, back when shamans were still only doing barely 2k dps. He's too easy now as we kill him in under 3 minutes. :P


And well, as to the rookie naxx'er. Gotta start sometime, somewhere. But like I said. With the right tactic, I think you can do him. Would love to see 2 5-boxers clear out naxx.

I did Grobb 4 boxing pre nerf too, and it is just hectic. The only added thing with us is having to tank and keep the follower shaman in range while getting out of the clouds with the tank. That's my concern, really. But I suppose it's no worse than having to deal with regathering shaman after the cocoons on Maex, but - still, I'm happy to beef up his ego after clearing Spider and getting some of the gimmicky fights down, like Instructor first. I thought if I subjected him to Grobbulus, after already subjecting him to Heigan, he may ragequit and destroy his own keyboard.

Grats on Undying BTW - I saw it in the other thread. We were so close the week before last, but we had a craptacular timing on Kel with a Tomb on our offtank at the exact WRONG moment. What's your normal group makeup btw? We usually have Prot Warrior/Prot Pally/double Holy Priest/Affliction Lock/Mage (who's spec changes daily)/and then I.

It made me sad.

I don't even want to think about Kel and Sapphiron 2 boxered. I think I'll make him tank both fights.

Do like us, don't use an offtank. :> Our maintank takes the adds as well (DK tank). Works like a charm, and no tomb RNG

This week was my first week trying Naxx and it was pretty interesting to say the least. Shaggir (alemi) spent alot of time teaching me the fights. I have to say it went ALOT better then I expected. I love how all this started, I logged on one day and said "Hey shaggir" he replyed "Where have you been?, we're gonna do Naxx" I replyed " We are?.... ok"

Unfortunately this week will probably be our only shot at Naxx, considering I'm on vacation(I really cannot play as much when I'm working) and Shaggir's guild is taking a break from Naxx this week. Hopefully we'll be able to progress further.
