Default [WoW] Need help to not screw up my vacation!

    Hello guys,

I have 10 days vacation and im bored of wow. I have 5 level 61 shamans and its just soo boring to do all the Outlands quests over again. And the WotLK quests. Just so boring.

Does anyone knows a cool game? Im looking for a new MMORPG tbh. I have seen everything in WoW, except the new content. But i cant find a good raiding guild on my server with my rogue.

Anyone got tips? Or say like, bite through this it will be fun in WoW?

I want to level my shamans to 70, drop one of my level 70 druids in and spec him balance, then level to 80 and spec one shaman resto and druid feral. Gear up, find a 5v5 charter and kick some ass.

Why play a game if its not fun? Don't waste 10 days of your life doing something you hate in hopes that it will pay off with some fun later

I was in the same predicament(sp?) before I found Eve. WoW was incredibly boring, and wotlk was a letdown imo. I started boxing eve a few weeks ago and it is slow moving, but still keeps me interested due to it's steep learning curve. I have a feeling I won't fully learn the game till about a year from now.

As for other mmo's besides Eve, they depend on whether or not you hardware or software box. City of Heroes and Final Fantasy XI are great examples of games you must hardware box.

Everquest2 and LotRO are software boxable.

Guild Wars would be a royal pita to box :)

You could try Runes of Magic : its free, so if you don't like it there is nothing lost, and you can grab a full team for the price of one (a regular party is 6 in RoM). I did it and got them all to level 5 in one sitting, which is ok considering that included all the setup needed and figuring out and finding macros for follow and addons. (they have an addon that will face your target for you, and it's Not illegal)

    LoL .

IMO, leveling will only be fun if you're not focused on the end game. The unfortunate problem is that this game doesn't really begin until level 80, so most of us want to get to 80 as fast as possible. Yet, I still don't understand why so many people struggle to get up to level 80. I've done the 80 grind more times than I care to count, across two different servers and with both factions (so I've started out with 0.000 hand-me-downs or gold).

Think about this for a moment, if you will: Playing only a mere 12 hours per week, you could hit level 80 in about 2 months (going from 70). In another thread I noted that you could just do dailies for about 53?ish days (starting at level 73), and you'd be 80. That's 8 weeks (7.5 if you want to get technical, but 2 months again), but this time its from level 73, and that's only doing quick daily quests. If you're only doing dailies each week, you should have full rest experience at all times. Use your rest experience to work on levels (it really only takes about 5-6ish hours to gain a level if you're fully rested and you just instance grind), when you have time.

Best of luck to you in Eve though.

    Cheers!

Most mmos are the same basic formula, 1. learn the terminology and basics, 2. grind like a mofo, and 3. grind some more with the possibility of great fun for small moments. The only difference between them is the steepness of it's learning curve and the amount of grinding that needs to be done. If you're unhappy with the WoW grind, try a faster grind, like Guild Wars. If you're daunted by the learning curve, stay away from EVE. OR you could just grab a different style of game - I'm a long time FPS fan. Several hours going through an old Half life episode or killing time with Team Fortress and I'm back at WoW before the night is done. The best medicine for WoWitis is just not playing for a while. Go outside, go read a book or something at a coffee shop, go clothes shopping, go get piss drunk, go workout, clean your house, go on vacation somewhere without a computer, so you CAN'T play for a weekend or so if you even wanted to. Generally if you're not having fun, it's time to evaluate why you play.

And when you're back at leveling, make sure you have a TV or monitor playing movies or tv shows. I watch stuff on hulu.com and other streaming sites.
