Default Nvidia Geforce 7950 Gx2, vista home premium 64 bit.

Just upgraded my main computer from vista home to vista home premuim 64bit - SP1, and ran into alot of problems regarding my grafic card.

I just wanted to share my solution to the problem.

    Problem:
Random black screen, even during login into vista. Nvidia Patch 182.08 installed. Low Fps, and unstable system.

    Solution:
Downgrade the patch from 182.08 to 178.13. (any newer version will result in the above problem).

New problem patch 178.13 - blinking grafics in WOW.

Solution: Turn down the shadow detail inside wow.

Apparently patch 182.08 might affect quite a few different cards. I have the 7950, but other cards might be affected aswell. Lets hope they fix it.

The above took me roughly 10 hours to solve and I wanted to share my expirence - it might be beneficial to someone.

I have that goddamned black screen after logging into Vista also... it can last upwards of 43 seconds. It's amazing how much rage I can build up in 43 seconds after spending so much love on my machine! Radeon 4850 for me, tho.

Thanks for the post. I'm going to tweak the shadow settings.
