    Default File system/partition question

Hello everyone! I can't seem to find an agreed upon answer to my question as I searched older posts so I thought I'd just ask I'm on a budget so I want to run my 5 clients off 1 hard drive, what I wanted to know, should i make a seperate partition for my wow install as opposed to having them on my OS' partition, and also should I have 5 installs one for each client or can I just run all 5 toons off 1 install? Thanks in advance!

Dont bother with partitioning it wont help. Just run em off of one install.

Thanks, so only run off 1 install, and its not worth it to use a seperate partition from my OS for the install?

Yes, not worth it I think. There are some theoretical advantages to partitioning and running your OS in a separate partition on the same HD, mostly related to fragmentation & ease of defragmenting. They are likely to be irrelevant in terms of the overall performance limitations of your setup.

[Other] PowerShell script to create symbolically linked (mklink) copies of WoW

Don't forget to read about and follow instructions for your OS (symlink)...I did this about a month ago after I switched to vista64 and the difference is night and day.

I always keep my OS on a single standalone partition for my clients computers for one simple reason. If your OS crashes and is not repairable ie. you have severe virus problems, you will be able to reformat that single partition and load a clean copy of your OS and not be forced to reinstall applications and documents, or in your case --> all 40gigs of WoW. Having WoW on a seperate partition than your OS will not affect performace due to it still being on the same HD.
