Hunters?

So I've been trolling the forums for a while now (since before WotLK came out) and I'm really interested in rolling a group of hunters mostly to PvP with. Right now I have a hunter sitting at lvl 70, since I haven't played WoW in about eight months, and I'm planning on rolling a team of 1X priest and 4 X hunters then dropping the priest at 70, or whatever will work best. As far as my goals for multiboxing I'd like to see this team be at least somewhat viable in arenas (I'll try a 5's team of just pure multiboxed hunters just for fun, but I realize 4 hunters + a healer played by someone else will probably work far better.

So my question is: Does anyone already do this? I check the forums pretty regularly and I haven't seen anything like this. Though a while back I did see Fursphere and a few others roll a team of hunters, but I don't think he ever got max level.

Also any suggestions, thoughts, etc. would be much apprieciated. Or you can just call me crazy, but you won't stop me

Hunters might be good boxed for quick dmg and terrific in BGs, but in my opinion your just gonna get steam rolled in arenas. No tremor totem to stop the fears plus the mass amounts of melee stacking right on top of you drops your dmg a ton. As far as i know there aren't that many if any that do hunter boxes atm (never seen anyone post about it).

Hmmmm, I have those same concerns, but I think with some of the changes in 3.0 and A LOT of creativity they'll have a much better chance. For instance to keep melee off there's disengage+ Frost traps and also deterrence which will give pretty much 5 seconds of invincibility.

What mostly draws me to this is the fact that it hasn't really been done before, it's a challenge, a huge challenge and I like that a lot.
The other thing is thinking of 5 huge red pets reeking havoc. At this point it's all just theorycrafting, but since I really have nothing to go off I have to start somewhere.

I also think that BM will be a much more solid choice of spec, even though Survival is more OP, both could work though. Lock and Load will definitely be a part of any spec, I don't think anything can survive 12-15 arcane shots.

I got kerbstomped using Hunters in Arenas at 70,from what i've seen so far of 80's I think its possible to get a few wins,but once teams figure out your boxing hunters they will easily adapt.
BG's are a totally different matter tho hunters are evil on some of the larger maps.

[I'd also add that Hunters play best for me when I could dictate,track and move up into a comforatble positon to unload pets and ammo.
In Arena matches it was awkward and difficult to negotiate with nowhere to really run for kiting.
AV and WG are your best bet,trust me chaining frost traps and siccing BW pets on mages just never gets old,I use Hyenas for megalols Warriors just love it].

I would think hunters would be awsome in BG but not that awsome in Arena.
they are a ranged class and don't do well when people get into their face.
I used to LOVE my 4x hunters/shaman at level 70 in AV and have 4x boars ( all named spam ) squeeling as the run for a target, I must have laughed for 10 minutes the first AV I did with them.
I never tried my hunters in Arena though and they have been collecting dust since WoLK came out.
I have no desire to PvP, there isn't any gear I need from there and the AoE is so devistating these days that anyone clumped together gets wacked fast.

I have a team of 4 hunters and a priest in the mid 60s, and they are definitely fun to quest on. As for PvP, I agree with the others that they are best suited to BG like AV or maybe AB.

As for arena, the main problem I see is that you won't be able to take advantage of all your abilities and thus lose out on some of the tools that make hunters viable in arena when played solo. Disengage and deterence are great, but how do you handle using it with 4 characters? You'll end up with some interesting facing and follow issues no matter how you handle it. Pets can be an annoyance, but they die pretty fast with minimal focus fire. Hunters themselves are also pretty squishy if casters manage to get a bead on them. There is some potential here, but I think it's going to be tricky to iron out the fine details. If you pull it off, I'd love to see it in action.
