    Default Hardware: User Input

I was thinking about getting a keypad and wondered if anyone had anything to say about these 2:

    Belkin n52te

    Logitech G13

    thanks!

They both do the trick, though belkin is rather large, and if you have small hands or short fingers it can be somewhat uncomfortable.
The ball-looking thing under the palm of your hand forces you to shift your hand sometimes. My hands are fairly small, so the G13 was a much better fit.
Plus the g13 comes with a matching keyboard, mouse and headset :P...but that's just eye candy.

They both have more keys than you can shake a stick at,
I found g13's joystick a little easier to use than n52's thumbpad,
The joystick's click action, however is a little rough and requires some thought, especially if you want to click it while the joystick is not in its home position
G13's backlighting is more customizable, if you like that kinda thing.
G13 saves your profiles on it, so if you switch computers it'll still be there. Funny enough it does NOT seem to work across different OSes? Vista does not see my XP profile, and vice versa...supposedly the new n52te can store the profiles, as well
"State switch" on G13 is a little out of the way, all the way by the LCD, but you can sacrifice 2 buttons -- I generally make them the Shift and Alt modifiers for control over 2 more WoW action bars. With n52, you would have to lose one of 14 buttons to "state change" functionality.

I hade a n52 (the first one, not te), and I replaced it with a G13.

I am very happy with the change. Having more keys is just priceless. I was afraid the stick would not be convenient/comfortable, but it is in fact even better than the n52 direction pad (I use that for character control, so it is rather important). I like the double "space bar" buttons (next to the stick). The stick is also clickable, which makes it an extra button (the clicking is quite hard, so it it not to be used too often, I use it to mount). The screen is useless for me (I have it display a clock) except that it makes it very visible which shift state the controller is in. For the rest, they are very similar products in their function.

I am very happy with my G13. Going back to N52 would be a pain.

Sounds like the G13 is the better product.

I currently have the older G15 Keyboard and the G7 mouse... so the G13 would be right at home in the setup.

    Thanks f
