I too was ready the day inscription came out and I singlehandedly wrecked my servers economy on glyphs. I did a little /jig in Orgrimmar when I received so many hate tells from people trying to gouge 100+g for glyphs that I was selling for 10g just to get out of my inventory. Yes I could have made more money, but I derived more pleasure from making some of the server merchant juggernauts angry. The ones that buy up all the ore and relist it for absurd prices, etc. Now I dont even bother making glyphs for my alts, I just buy them off the AH :S

Yeah I know what you mean. I don't care if the glyph's sell for nothing, I just wanted the shoulder enchants.

I'm tempted to just buy the pvp ones cause (They are easy to get), and the only difference between them and the hodir ones is +crit or mp5 for caster against res. Its not really that big of a deal in my eyes.

    To stir the pot:

I leveled up Inscription on my DK because I got tired of being left behind when my Shaman would Astral Recall out of somewhere and my hearthstone was still on cooldown.

And if that weren't ridiculous enough on its own, I leveled up buying off of the auction house.

    Ha!

BTW, I am not trying to imply that this was a cheap or good reason to level up inscription, it is merely to point out that if it is important to you, then do it. I rarely do stuff to sell on the auction house (the only thing I think I have sold on the auction house was silk cloth back in the day and a Titansteel ring that I didn't read closely enough to find that you couldn't wear more than 1 of them).

my DK hit level 77 two days ago, and just hit 79 today. He is already revered with Sons of Hodir, and I haven't bought a single relic of ulduar from the auction house. I spent about 4 hours two days ago doing the initial quest chain and turned in about 10 relics (got most of them doing the quests, but have ~300 saved up from my regular team) and unlocked up to honored. It took me about one hour yesterday to unlock some more dailies. Today it took me exactly 25 minutes to do every Hodir daily possible, of course I have 2 shamans helping me burst stuff down - the collection quests go by fast when you grab 10 mobs and just D&D/magma totem them all down

I could spend ~2000g and buy relics to hit exalted tomorrow, but I'll probably do dailies for a week (good gold) and hit exalted that way. I did collect around 20 everfrost shards in the past 2 days, that helped a LOT - around 7k rep right there. In the evening when I am raiding on my main I am able to farm a bunch of everfrost shards and herbs in the area, the herbs alone should net me 1-2k gold when converted to glyphs or cards.

So anyways just wanted to say if you focus on one person at a time hitting exalted with Sons of Hodir is very easy, I've also already unlocked Argent Crusade and Vault in Icecrown, the only thing I skipped doing on my DK is the Sholozar factioning, after 2 months of getting a egg weekly on my team and getting zero, 0 proto drake mounts that whole area has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I leveled Inscription on my DK when I hit 80, as I was leveling I heard a lot of bitching about Hodir dailies from guildies, and the other character I was leveling with the DK was an herbalist.

I bought the mats for vanilla WoW herbs off of the AH for ~1k used a ton of saved herbs for TBC (free for me) and then nabbed the stuff that my herbalist got leveling herbalism for the rest.

You can level it to shoulder enchant range for less than the cost of an epic flyer if you were buying it all. 3-5k gold.

It is a great money maker once you get some of the popular glyphs but it research is a ~75g daily investiment and doesn't really pay out for a couple months. Takes 83 days to get all of the glyphs.
