Default Oh no! Not another "Will this computer be capable of multiboxing?" thread!

Hrmm... I see this has been discussed extensively already, I just failed to look! NVM This thread!

    Hail DB community!
I took a break from WoW and thus also a break from multiboxing, now I want to get back with with full force.
    (I hope Blizzard haven't outlawed multiboxers while I was gone! :S )

What I am planning on getting (different colors since I'm fabuuuulous):
    Case: Antec Twelve Hundred
    PSU: Corsair CMPSU-850TXEU 850W
    Processor: Intel Core i7 Quad 920 2,66GHz s1366
    Motherboard: Asus P6T DELUXE
Graphic Card: Asus GeForce GTX 295 1792MB
    RAM: 6x Kingston HyperX DDR3 PC12800 1600MHz 2GB
    HDD:
OCZ Core Series V2 SATA2 SSD 30GB (Maybe it's better to get 60 gb??)
Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA (7200 RPM)

...and a cheap Samsung SH-S223F SATA Bulk!
    This is for quad-boxing!

Any and all help towards helping me create a stable and smooth machine for multiboxing is greatly appreciated!
    /Seraphaw

[€dit] Oh and please call out if you see any fault in this list, like if anything is not compatible with the other or whatnot. Also I would like to know if I need to buy something else (like cables, cooling or w/e).

Should be fine from what I've seen other people boxing on.

    Generic requirements for 5-boxing:
Relatively new (year or two old) Processor and Video Card
    4-8 GB RAM

I think that is all that really matters.

So what you're ACTUALLY saying is that I can do almost as good with older technology instead of spending more money on newer technology?
Can you tell me what you are boxing on and when/if you experience delays, lag, sluggish preformance etc.

You'll be more than fine with that rig.

I run 5 accounts using an i7 920, 12 GB RAM (six should be fine), GTX 260, SSD. In 5 man instances my main gets 50 FPS because I cap it at 50. In Dalaran my main gets about 35 FPS. My slaves are always capped at 10 FPS. Make sure to load balance on your proccessor cores.

I'd suggest moving from 4 to 5 unless your goal is PvP.

About Dalaran, when you are moving around do you experience alot of annoyance like: "I can't wait to get out of this place! ARGHH!"
To be honest I am afraid to go up to 5.

On my old laptop I used to avoid Dalaran like the plague. Now I have fun and show off a bit with mass treants, hurricanes, and tranquility. If my attention needs aren't met then I throw 10-15 HoTs on someone until I get noticed... hmm, I may have a problem.

You can easily do 5 and I'd say it's likely you'll regret not being able to do 5-mans if you continue with 4-boxing (unless you're primarily focused on PvP).

Also, using Hotkeynet's <SetAffinity All> command it load balances nicely and I'd say my cores stay around 40%, even in Dalaran. I haven't sat there and watched them, but I'm confident the i7 handles the load just fine. If you don't set your affinity, you'll find that your first 2 cores out of the 8 shown are really getting hammered and you may have a CPU bottleneck... that's one of the many reasons HKN is so great

I only dual box so I can't really confirm what low end specs will work. I do know the next patch is adding higher res textures in so max settings might need some more juice/memory.

Sounds good, thanks for aiding me!

If I turn my settings to max on all clients, then Dalaran is basically unplayable. If I turn my settings to high (75%) and keep view distance at max, then Dalaran is nice and smooth. If you're worried about playing at maximum graphic settings, then I'm not sure what type of system could handle multiple clients at once in Dalaran.
