Synergy + vista + administrator mode programs (or, laugh at my stupidity)

So, anyway, this is somewhat painfully obvious in retrospect, but, I've been having an issue with synergy and mozilla firefox and wineq2 under vista. Namely it couldn't switch windows if they were in focus, you'd have to hit the windows key and click on the task bar to switch screens. So, anyway, tolerated this with firefox for, oh, a year or so, without ever chasing down the issue. Then I went back to EQ a week ago, and discovered that it was also an issue with WinEQ. Well, after a couple hundred google searches, lots of thinking, and option trying, and just barely short of giving Innerspace a try / begging for help at lavish soft, I gave one last halfhearted google for firefox + synergy issue, , and got this article because firefox happened to be a menu item on that page. lol. yeah, so I'm thick. It never occurred to me that it was a Vista issue, or somehow to stick vista in my query. Anyway, the long and the short is that if you run something as adminsitrator under windows vista, you also have to run synergy as administrator or it wont be able to switch screens while that other program has focus. Sorta obvious. Anyway, if anyone else has the issue of their mouse getting stuck in certain windows (with regards to synergy, anyway) maybe they can find this post and be all enlightened. Or maybe everyone can have a good ole laugh at my expense. either works.

Are you using synergy just for the KVM feature or are you using it for the key broadcasting as well?

If you're just using it for KVM, check out http://www.inputdirector.com/ its free, easy to use. It can be a bit quirky at times but I think my issues are relative to me swapping between networks so often.

just using it as a KVM. I have a hardware KVM, but its easier to use the software KVM. But I'll check that program out anyway.
