Default i7 system w/ 12 gigs of DDR3 for under $1k at TigerDirect

I'm on TigerDirect's mailing list and occasionally they have kick'n deals. I thought I'd pass this along for anyone looking to build a new 5 boxing system.

    i7 920 CPU, 12 GB of DDR3 ram, 1 TB hard drive, mid tower case, 650w PSU - here's what's from TD:

    ASUS P6T Intel Socket LGA1366 Barebone Kit - Intel Core i7 920, 12GB Corsair DDR3-1333, 1TB SATA2, Clear Side ATX Mid-Tower, 650W

Nice find! I just wish the PSU was a bit better. You know, something with a bit more than 38A on the 12v rail :P

The discount makes this deal. Unfortunately it is slightly degraded by a questionable hard drive (Hitachi? Really?) and lackluster case/psu choices.

Though, their regular prices still get beat by newegg by about $10 each. Unless you take advantage of this pre-packaged deal, there's not much sense in getting it from tigerdirect. The i7 processor alone is $25 cheaper through newegg, in fact.

edit: It should further be noted that this "system" does not include a video card either. Expect to pay another $100-500 to get this up and running, depending on your tastes and availability of peripheral hardware (mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitor).

Hitachi is not a bad drive.

TD doesn't list it as a "system" - it lists it as a Barebones kit, in which case it meets the definition.
