Tank DPS

Howdy,

My feral has always been geared more towards the meow side so I was hoping some of you guys running tanks in your groups could give me some information...

With a decently (not raid level stuff, just heroics) geared tank, how much dps do you do?

So Im asking, what class is your tank, hows your gear look, and what dps does he/she put out roughly?

Decently geared (pretty much all iLvl 200 epics from craftin/heroics) unholy DK here, putting out a whopping 1000 dps on average. Higher if theres tons of AoE, but that's average between heroic bosses and 3-4 trash mob packs.

Hm I was hoping for a bit higher. I am hopeful that because of my buff synergy with my group I can put out some bigger numbers.

Ya low 1000 dps is pretty typical for tanks.

Note that since feral druids don't have to gear for defense they will have a lot more dps stats and will do lots of dps in catform, maybe even in bearform.

Tank: DPS specced Unholy DK
Gear: mostly ilvl 213
DPS: single target 2-2.5k dps (higher for AoE stuff)

I would probably drop another 500 dps if I was tank specced

I don't have trouble at all in heroics or OTing 25-man stuff. I do run with the Bone Shield glyph.

I spec my DK as a tank specifically because I dont want to have to heal him. I want him to stay alive as long as possible without heals and it seems the best way is to gear for avoidance (since nothing in heroics hits harder than an avoidance tank will have for health.) Can you post your rotation for your unholy guy? Mine (according to recount) only does 1200, but he is blood/frost.

For single target stuff I do the standard dps rotation of PS-IT-BS-BS-SS-UB-SSx3 tossing a DC whenever I have a free GCD.
For AoE DnD-PS-IT-Pestilence then I move back toward my single target rotation. BB in place of BS would be more efficient on larger groups but I am lazy.
