You bring your five toons to the questgiver, ready to click Complete Quest five times, get crappy rewards, and go vend it all so you can go out and kill more Wrathgobbler Vilekittens. You complete the first toon's quest and are ready to click the second when all your dialogue windows close! NPC stands up, says "at last! Now I can do that extremely complicated computer repair I needed these irradiated rat kidneys for!" ... slowly walks across the room ... says, "if only my father could see me now!" ... then a goblin with a fire extinguisher appears! ... "wait," says the NPC, "I need to do the chicken dance!" ... the goblin sits down politely and there is a seven second pause while the NPC marshals his thoughts ... but then Hemit Nesingwary charges in, demanding to see the manager! ... then pauses ... the goblin stands up and says, "but NPC, I am your father" ... and then other stuff happens, and in just over twenty-seven seconds you can click Complete Quest on Toon #2 and see the drama unfold again. And again.
The ones that annoy my multiboxing self the most aren't even the really long ones, but the unnecessary ones. When you clue Thrall in to the existence of the Mag'har in Hellfire, OK, that one grinds on forever, but at least it's relevant story and you can understand why it's there, and remember fondly the first time you saw it when it was new. But then there's the turn-in at Dome Farfield in Netherstorm, where you tell the guy, "hey, I killed 12 raptors" and he says, "horray! Now you can watch me walk over here for ten to fifteen seconds of your life! Five times!" I've multiboxed his quest three times now and each time I want to Moonfire him in increasingly more sensitive areas.
