Default Focus Follows Mouse with Win 7

I have loaded win 7 a few days ago and wow what a difference over winxp 32. the only major problem that I have seen so far was the "focus follows mouse" feature doesn't work unless you make a system wide change to win7. I googled "focus follows mouse" and came up with instructions on how to enable this feature on vista. I followed the same steps in win 7 and it worked. Now I have focus follows mouse in wow. The problem is I have it in all windows now, outside of wow. Is this just the way it works or is it a keyclone/win 7 bug?

I think you wanted to figure out why focus follows mouse in Keyclone wasn't working, and instead ended up enabling focus follows mouse in windows. So that would end up causing all applications to do that, since windows doesn't know the difference between wow, keyclone or any other application.

However, here is an article about keyclone and the limitations of focus follows mouse in relation to you monitor designations and positioning, which may have been your initial problem: http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/in...ouse#post80913

Maybe you can try turning off windows focus following and just re-layout your monitor designations. Or maybe it's a new issue unique to Win7 and i'm just making work for you :S

dbick, I'm curious, do you dislike the way it's working now? I'm asking because this is how HotkeyNet does it. It never occurred to me that people might want to restrict it to particular windows.

Freddie-I don't really dislike it, it's just that i'm not used to all of my windows acting this way. I usually don't have allot of different windows up at the same time unless I am playing WOW. My wife might run into an issue with it since she's an accountant and usually has allot of diferent programs and windows up while she works, dunno if she's noticed yet.

Aboron-Yes thats exactly what happend. I solved the issue in a roundabout way. I looked into that other thread you linked and It doesnt seem to apply to this issue. I don't use a two monitor setup. Just 3 clients all on my 22 widescreen, I don't use maximizer, I just run them all in windowed mode and size them as needed, usually just a little edge of the slaves peeking out from under a almost full screen main. Focus follows mouse allowed me to mouse over to a slave client and it would pop out to the forefront with focus. The windows setting fix does the same thing albeit a little slower than keyclone alone does while booted into winxp.

I see, thanks. HotkeyNet lets the user toggle it off and on with a keypress, so it might not be as annoying, but I see the problem. Maybe I'll add something or change it.
