Much of your success is based on having a person healing you. If you cant find anyone who is willing to grind through the learning process of healing your team there is no way to advance. My next arena team is going to be named WTB A Healer. I dont know if you guys have good friends who want to do it or you pay people gold every week. Finding a healer is a boxers biggest problem for arena. Why would someone heal a boxer when they can join a face roll group and get more points without any learning process?

What? I never had problems finding a healer simply because people find it to be such a cool setup to play.

The spam i get by healers is crazy, i always get 4-5 whispers.

/2 lf healer 5v5 need to be skilled and geared (quad-boxing setup + healer)

After that i just tell them that its not the best combo etc but all ive played with have been ok with that so far.

Never ask for healer in /2 every noob has full 25

My paladin has just s3 an 2 deadly gladi items but he's merciless glad;

i played weeks ago with a 25geared pala with 2k+ add heal and i played like 10-5

with my new pally i play like 7-3 on 1750, he has about 1500 add spell

If you dont know any people on the server i cant see whats so bad with trying.. There are tons of good players that arent gladiator, lots who plays with RL friends. If theyr crap it usualy dont take long to realise it and drop them.

7-3 says nothing on whatever rating your at due to "hidden rating" . You simply cant decide if hes good by looking on your win/loss. You have to take into account theyr setup,skill,luck, to compare him to your old paladin! We had the 8-16 2 weeks ago and went up 100 rating, we was chained vs mostly 1950+ teams.

But ofc if you take a random guy with epic gear and 1200 rating in 3vs3 it will most likley fail.

mrmcgee nailed it. We are both doing relatively well, I think I hit 1968 or so and then dropped down a bit and he is similar in scenario. Something is amiss about arenas at the moment, maybe it's 5's? I'm not quite sure but it's losing the 'fun factor'. I have been dabbling around just playing 1 with friends to enjoy it more in 2's and 3's.
Before reading this thread though I was thinking about it this weekend, and perhaps for me it is that I've done this already in the past and now I am doing it all over again but it is definitely not as easy, and sometimes you just bang your head against the wall on the crazy scenario's that unfold within the game.

I was thinking though.. for some time I've been gearing more and more towards crit instead of spell power.. and my decline in arena performance has gone hand-in-hand with my increasing crit chance.. not sure if it's related.

That is not the reason. PVP is terrible. Thats the reason.

I am 5-5 this week, but mainly because the 5 wins were against teams that only zoned in 2 or 3 people. Not sure what happened there but I'll be happy to take advantage!

I am still amazed at how anyone can consistently win arenas. I know I am a noob when it comes to PvP and worse than useless in arenas, but still I am amazed because I usually last about 30 seconds once the combat begins.

With better gear, I am lasting maybe a minute now. The problem is that I go all spastic with the keypresses and probably end up hurting myself because of it. I'd like to say that I'm improving, but realistically it's probably no better.

Actually had 6-6 and a 50 rating gained due to winning against high rated and well played teams.

HOWEVER sunday i my paladin was eager to play and i wasnt realy in the mood + beeing realy hangover and tired. We lost 6 matches straight just because i wasnt able to focus and play well. We could have won em all if i simply had been able to play like normal!

Faced one combo i felt helpless vs this week and that was.

Mage/Mage/Boomkin/Elemental shaman/resto druid

Groundings were gone within a GC (well it felt like that) and the damage was simply insane. Once i started chainhealing i was knockbacked by the boomkin, should have focused the boomkin i guess since he cant IB like the mages.

I tried 'properly' for the first time last night. By properly I mean with a single healer friend who just hit 80 2 days ago. Naturally he's under geared.

But more than that is just how not-used to PvP with my shamans I am.. dealing with melee weaving behind me etc, it's very hard to deal with. But I look back to when I first started boxing instances without a tank that out geared the place and remember how flustered and gumby I was and compared to how I am now (can clear almost all heroics) and think yea I just need some time.

I need some more gear too, I'm just shy of 700 res and have 18k hp.. not really enough, also I think dps is still too high across the board for in 5's now which doesn't help. Strats n all are good if there is actually time to pull them off.

I'd like to hear some success stories too though.. how you dealt with those annoying melee running behidn you etc.. Any raw unedited fraps clips of arena would be cool too.

Im allso just afking my 10 games...
Got 804 resil, but getting killed in a few seconds.
Im started doing 3v3 with me and 2 friends retri pala and feral drood, they both have 0 resil
and it was easy to keep my 1500 rating..
im the healer in this team, and only time i manage to live more than 10 sec is when pala gives me protection...

And when i 3 box im lucky to stay alive for more than 5 sec...
