EQ2 Download speed

I have been downloading the game all day. I had up to EoF on dvd so loaded those first. It has been patching for like 8 hours+.. is that normal? the time on the patcher has jumped around a lot, from a few hours to 25 hours.

If I went out and bought the newest expansion, would that load "most" the game files with a lot less patching needed? At this rate I wont be playing until tomorrow and REALLY wanted to start setting up teams tonight lol

Turn off the downloader and start it again. Mine locked up at some point when I patched and went from 2 hours left before bed to 25 hours left when I woke up, but it was still grabbing files. After restart, it was done in like an hour.

yah our downloads stall at some point. I woke up and peeked at it and was like "wow, taking longer and longer". the wife figured it out though. i have no brains in the morning.

According to my wife, I have no brains ever. Good thing I never listen to her. :thumbup:

I started my download last night. I'm installing it to an external hard drive in hopes that I can just copy over the entire thing to the other PC's when it's done.

The download is killing me. Went for 5-6 hours..got down to 1 minute, and then went back to 8 hours.

So I stopped the download, restarted, and now it says 16 hours. ;(

Make sure you have downloaded the beta Station launcher. If you log in to that and let it download for you it will be SOOO much faster. I downloaded the entie game and updates in about 2 hours. Your milage may very but I can gaurantee it will be faster than the regular launcher that EQ2 uses. Hope that helps.
