    Default Fastest Leveling Combination

    Hey, this is my first post on these forums. I'm really just interested in leveling using the RAF to get several toons up to level 60 and beyond Azeroth content ( :sleeping: ). I have already used this system to get a couple of horde toons up, but I switched back to alliance and want a healer now. However, I'm having a problem picking out what classes would be best.

    I know that you either want 2 ranged or 1 tank(melee)/1 heal (dps with healing capability). But what combination is the fastest to get to 60? I'm planning to use the Leveling Guide posted on here (although I'll have to do 5-23 somewhere besides Dranei areas...the other account won't have BC on it). I'm also planning to play alliance side, if that factors into anything (again, with the alt account not having BC).

    My end goal is to have a healing class leveled to 60, but not necessarily dual-box with him. If i have to use the auto-level feature to level a healer, then that works. Just as long as I don't have to level slowly through Azeroth (I really get bored with that content about level 30-40, so if I'm able to power myself though that content, then I'll be able to get to 60 in no time). What classes have the best synergy and level the fastest (i.e. burn mobs down fastest/little downtime afterwards, Gold is not an issue). I know there is some post somewhere that has explained this, but with wrath talents and content, I did not know if those same class combinations held true. Any advice on what to choose would be greatly appreciated .

    whatever combination of characters you choose to level to 60 it will only take you around 2 days /Played to get them there.

    if you want speed levelling try - Dual hunters or Locks. once you have levelled two sets to 60 you can "gift" a healer to 60.

    I like the idea of gifting a Healer! Sounds cool. I am also a new dual boxer. Looking forward to this soon.

    the only trouble i have found with "gifting" characters is that they have no spells, skills or gear... so it costs you money to equip them. the gear problem is solved to some extent by starting in Outlands, but you would still need to by a couple of cheap items from the AH (if your other characters didnt pick up any relevant cloth drops or weapons along the way). levelling up all spells and only basic riding will cost you the best part of 200-300g. Epic riding is another 480 -600g depending on rep (of which you'll have none).

    I have got around this (well delayed it anyway) by doing the Wintersaber Frostsaber grind in Winterspring (you start at lvl 58 ). Reaching exalted with Wintersaber Trainers allows you to by a 100% Frostsaber that only requires 75 riding skill, so i can purchase the 150 skill at a later date. the grind takes about 31 hours (depending on how busy Winterfall Villages is with other people farming it)

    fastest way of leveling (imho) is getting lvl 10 with both, add a lvl 70/80 pally to your group and bomb through instances:

    http://www.wowwiki.com/Instances_by_level

    - deadmines or shadowfang keep (I prefer shadowfang cuz you can pull half of the instance to the entry)
    - with lvl 15 move on to stockades (1 level / run ~ 10 mins)
    - with lvl 20 move on to scarlet monastry
    - with lvl 40 move on to brd
    - with lvl 50 move on to stratholme or scholomance
    - with lvl 58 move on to burning crusade content and start questing until lvl 60 where the RAF stops.
    (BC quests give you a lot of eps + 300% bonus on the quests = BÄM!)

    /played 1-60 ~ 2 days.

    gifted levels can be used to kick up another char.

    learning all spells from 1-60 costs about 500-600 G for a druid
    I don't know how much other classes cost.
    mount lvl 30 ~ 100G
    mount lvl 60 ~ 540G skill + 90G mount

    you don't need to buy gear because you get geared up completely by doing the first quests in the burning crusade content.

    only thing you need to skill is weapon skill and defense.
    Takes about 30-60 minutes to get that up.
    Grab yourself a grey and fast weapon to skill.

    //edit:
    oh, and if you don't have someone / another char to boost you / yourself: 2 hunters.

    I started getting back into Dual-boxing and I can personally endorse that 2 locks level insanely fast and they take almost no gear upgrades until about 40 and even then if you are choosing the right quests for gear you are fine up until Outlands and beyond.

    I find that in endgame if you are going to do more PvE that a DPS/Healer combo is more rewarding in the end. I am working on a Pally and Priest right now. leveling they will be Ret and Shadow. That way end game you will have the option of playing a tank/melee dps/healadin and or a ranged DPS/healing priest. You have all your roles covered

    In the end tho you have to like the classes you play.

    Have fun!

    Default My suggestions...grain of salt, 2cents, etc.

    After levelling several groups to 60, I am of the belief that the quest route you choose is just as important as the class.

    My optimized alliance route is now the following, which includes disregarding ALL types of collect quests (ground spawns and mob drops), even if they start a chain. One of the keys to fast levelling is to simply forget quests that require you to go to cities, or that overlap to another zone..you just don't need those to progress and it wastes time.

    Notably, the one exception to the no-collect quest rule is when only one of an item is required to complete a quest - you'll find that when only one drop is required, all characters can loot it off the same kill, so those quests are well worth doing. Also keep an eye out for "This item starts a quest" type-drops -- if your main finds one, be sure to loot it with your slave(s) as well since these are awesome free XP.

    My guys always finish at 58 long before using up the Azeroth content - the first couple of times, I just made it through part of the early 50's zones such as Felwood - didn't have to touch Winterspring, Un'Goro, Silithus, or Plaguelands. With RAF, it's by far more preferable to hit Outlands immediately at 58 due to 3x quest experience..59-60 goes by supafast.

    Newbie zone -> 5
    Azuremyst/Bloodmyst Isle -> 5-20 (or starting zone -> 12/darkshore -> 20, if no TBC)
    Skip 1st part of Ashenvale but do Forestsong if needed -> 20-23 (I usually don't need to do this as you can easily get to 23 in Bloodmyst, but it's a quick boost if you prefer or need it)
    Duskwood -> 23-32
    1st Pass North STV -> 34
    Southshore/Arathi -> 36
    2nd pass North STV -> 38
    Theramore -> 40
    STV South -> 44
    Tanaris/Feralas -> 48
    Searing Gorge -> 51
    Un'Goro -> 54
    Felwood/Winterspring/Pick late 50's zone(s) you prefer -> 58
    Outlands -> 60

    Doing this or something similiar, you can easily hit 30 at about 12 hours played, and make it to 60 somewhere between the 1 (very fast) to 2 (leisurely) day mark, depending on how much goofing off you do, tradeskilling, etc.

    If you want ridiculously fast, two hunters with gorillas is just plain silly and ezmode (almost too easy). I was easily rockin' 2-3 levels an hour just doing kill quests in STV in the 30's and early 40's.

    In terms of overall balance of power, utility, and flexibility, I'd suggest pally/mage. It's a pretty amazing combo with lots of synergy and is very strong if macroed up a bit and played well..mutually beneficial buffs, tank, healer, cleanse (you'll be surprised how handy this is), solid dps, replenishment, plenty of ohno buttons (bubble, ice block, blink, lay on hands, hand of protection, mana shield, etc). I specced ret and fire.

    Most importantly, The crazy AE pulls you can do (and live through) with this combo is wickedly fun I simply love it!
