I got a new machine, re-installed everything, and thought I would move away from Octopus and buy Keyclone. Buying process was very efficient, and the basic setup (key broadcasting, Maximizer, PiP) went very smoothly.
I still have several issues with it, though :
- Focus Follows Mouse lags quite badly.
I have seen this described in several posts, but no solution was proposed yet. I am using one 24' screen only under Vista 64. I use my thumbnail alt views quite a lot (interact with NPC, trade objects, aim AOE ...), and this lag makes it just not usable (about one second when mousing over a new window). It is not a problem with my setup since Octopus does it flawlessly.
Any fix ?
- Round Robin ?
How do you guys use it. If a key is on round robin, it will be that for all clients and all groups, right ? This means I cannot have one character doing something all the time on one key press, while on the same keypress, 4 other characters will do something else alternatively ? I don't see the advantage of this over a classical /castsequence with extra comas. I think it is much more flexible for someone running several groups with several classes.
Am I missing something ?
- How do you enable "Pass all keys" ?
I like to use a "white list", only some keys are broadcast. So basically my keyboard is safe, and only the keys on my G13 pad are sent to all clients. However, I want to be able to enable some "Pass all keys" function, probably through a hotkey, to type in my password/authenticator code, or simple start a silly /dance emote on all clients at once.
Once again, am I missing something ?
- How do keymap work ?
I have a very simple request. On my mouse (a logitech G9), the side buttons cannot be attributed to modifiers. Bad point. I want shift and control there. So I put other keys on these buttons (page up and page down), and I want all of my WoW windows to interpret this as shift and control on all my accounts and characters. How do I do that ? I know it's possible with Keyclone, so it'ss probably just me being dense, but I didn't manage to make it work.
Perhaps I am missing the simple solution (Octopus makes it literally a matter of 2 clicks) ?
Bottom line is that for the moment I moved back to Octopus. Any advice ?
