I don't know how successful I've been after all's said & done with RAF,

As for cash... quest quest quest, and then quest some more. Also, whichever characters you plan to level to max first, have them take gathering skills and max them as soon as you can. And have one of them skill up enchanting as well, at least to... 325 I think it is, to DE level 70-80 items. Auctioning gathering/enchanting mats are still a good moneymaker. Enchanting mats are the best because there's no cost to list them. So you don't need to worry about undercutting people or being undercut. Set your price, and if it doesn't sell, just re-list.

But mostly you want to run quests and save up the cash. With your 70s, you can also run the Sunwell dailies until your eyes bleed. Not as much cash if your accounts have WotLK, but you'll be getting exp along with the gold, and more levels makes the dailies that much easier. Or just go straight to Northrend and start raking in the quest cash (and getting greens to DE for more money). It's a bit of a grind, but it's a grind that you can manage and which produces relatively predictable results (at least the dailies do, anyway). I'm looking at needing around 28,000 gold to get my team of four their full riding skills and mounts (ie all of the riding skill including cold-weather when they hit 77). I've got just over 12,000 in the bank, and figure I will get most of the rest just from questing with the group and doing dailies with my level 80 hunter.
